Univision’s Teresa RodrÕguez to Host PromaxLatino 2018 Award Show 11.06.2018 Teresa RodrÃguez, co-anchor of Univision Network's Aquà y Ahora news magazine show, has interviewed top newsmakers, politicians and celebrities on important issues facing Hispanics in the U.S. On November 14 at the New World Center in Miami, she'll also take the stage as host of the PromaxLatino 2018 award show, where she'll present the winners of the PromaxBDA Latin America Awards and the US Hispanic Awards, which honor the region and market's finest work in television promotion, marketing and design. View Latin America Awards Full Finalist List View US Hispanic Awards Full Finalist List Fernando Osorio The award show will kick off with Latin Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Fernando Osorio, who will perform the song "La negra tiene tumbao," which he wrote for Celia Cruz. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Osorio moved to Venezuela as a young boy and learned music by playing instruments such as the cuatro, violin and guitar. In his early 20s, he recorded two albums as part of the duo "Fernando & Juan Carlos" before beginning his solo career. Osorio has shared the stage with artists such as Shakira, Juanes, Franco de Vita, Luis Enrique and others. His performance at PromaxLatino will give way to RodrÃguez as host of this year's gala awards ceremony. An Emmy-award winning journalist and author, RodrÃguez joined Univision in 1982. During her tenure, she's been the first woman in history to host a national primetime Spanish-language newscast as co-anchor of Spanish International Network, Univision's former name. Rodriguez also has hosted a series of specials, such as America through Spanish Eyes, that was intended to increase awareness about the challenges Hispanics face, as well as the weekly segment Primer Plano (Foreground), an in-depth news report on current national and international concerns on Noticiero Univision (Univision News). In addition, Rodriguez served as executive producer, creator and host of Portada, Univision's first newsmagazine that aired throughout the U.S. as well as in 18 Latin American countries. She's also the author of the book, "The Daughters of Juarez: A True Story of Serial Murder South of the Border," a spokesperson for Univision's education campaign, "Tu Futuro depende de ti…Edúcate," has been honored for her education special Infancia y el Aprendizaje (Children and Learning) on early childhood development, and serves as a board member for Univision's Women's Leadership Council. Cynthia Hudson As she reveals the award-winning marketing work at PromaxLatino, Rodriguez also will introduce CNN's Cynthia Hudson as the recipient of the PromaxIMPACT award, which honors the executive as a champion of inclusion, multicultural awareness and diversity.
