Nilkatarakt, 20. 1.-15. 2. 1962. Zitierte Literatur JANSE, A. J. Bidzilya1 1 Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University, Zoological Museum, Volodymyrska str., 60, MSP 01601, Kyiv, Ukraine; [email protected] http://zoobank.org/8A092C1D-38A1-47D9-B56C-9513184E4F6D Received 31 January 2014; accepted 29 April 2014; published: 15 June 2014 Subject Editor: Lauri Kaila Abstract. A new highly specialized Catatinagma Rebel, 1903 species is described from Turkmenistan. Both sexes have completely reduced hindwings and strongly reduced forewings. The adults are active in February, jumping amongst Carex physodes M. Bieb. and being associated with rodent burrows. The new species is similar to Metanarsia trisignella Bidzilya, 2008, in the male genitalia. Both species are placed here provisionally in Catatinagma Rebel, 1903, and their position within Apatetrini is briefly discussed. The adult and the genitalia of both sexes are illustrated, and the behaviour of the new species is described. Introduction As a result of my study of material deposited in the Zoological Institute of the Russian Acade- my of Sciences (Russia, Sankt-Petersburg, ZIN), a very remarkable narrow-winged species of Gelechiidae with prominent frontal process from Repetek Nature Reserve (SE Turkmenistan) was discovered. As it turned out after a detailed examination, the species was an undescribed member of the subfamily Apatetrinae, tribe Apatetrini (Karsholt et al. 2013) but its generic assignment was unclear. A well-developed beak-shaped frontal process on the head and stenoptery in both sexes with fully reduced hindwing were recognized as external morphological specializations of the new species.

Altogether, 1,564 species taxa (identifi ed at least to the genus level) from 25 orders of Hexapoda have been recorded from the Socotra Archipelago to date. In addition, members of Diplura and Ephemeroptera are known from the archipelago as well, but they have not been identifi ed so far. The most speciose order in Socotra are beetles (Coleoptera) with 540 species. The total number of endemic taxa described from the archipelago is 662 species, which represents 42% of all known species. The vast majority of species is known from the main Socotra Island (1,520 species, 635 endemic taxa). The diversity of insects in Socotra is briefl y commented on and compared with the nearest archipelago – the Seychelles. Key words. Hexapoda, biodiversity, endemism, insect survey, Socotra, Yemen Introduction An extensive research of invertebrate diversity of the Socotra Archipelago in the last 20 years resulted in numerous publications containing descriptions of new taxa as well as new faunistic records from Socotra.

Subject Editor: Lauri Kaila. Abstract. Faunistic data for 48 species of Microlepidoptera from Europe are provided. A total of 35 re- cords are new for certain European countries. Four species are recorded for the first time in Europe: Spiniphallellus desertus Bidzilya & Karsholt, 2008 (Gelechiidae), Hypsopygia almanalis (Rebel, 1917) (Pyralidae), Pyrausta tithonialis Zeller, 1872, and Mecyna lutulentalis (Lederer, 1858) (both Crambidae). Three new taxa are described: Agonopterix socerbi Šumpich, sp. n. (Depressariidae) from Slovenia, Chrysoclista abchasica gabretica Šumpich, ssp. n. (Agonoxenidae) from the Czech Republic, and Eulamprotes graecatella Šumpich & Skyva, sp. n. (Gelechiidae) from Greece. The previously unknown female of Megacraspedus albovenata Junnilainen, 2010 (Gelechiidae) is also described. Xenopathia no vaki (Rebel, 1891) (Blastobasidae) is figured for the first time including genitalia of both sexes. Introduction Our collecting trips to various parts of Europe have yielded findings regarding a con- siderable number of species that are noteworthy from ecological, faunistic or other points of view. As the data available are insufficient for a detailed evaluation of the lepidopteran fauna in the visited areas, we only provide the most interesting findings, a number of which are first country records. Furthermore, we collected several speci- mens that we could not identify as belonging to any known species.

  • Systematic Catalogue of the Entomofauna of the Madeira Archipelago and Selvagens Islands
SYSTEMATIC CATALOGUE OF THE ENTOMOFAUNA OF THE MADEIRA ARCHIPELAGO AND SELVAGENS ISLANDS LEPIDOPTERA Vol. I 1 2 By A. M. FRANQUINHO AGUIAR & OLE KARSHOLT With 4 figures ABSTRACT. Being the first of a series dealing with the entomofauna of the Madeira and Selvagens Islands, this catalogue is a list of all Lepidoptera recorded from this region of Macaronesia, with references to the relevant literature. The checklist includes 37 families, 211 genera and 331 species. 31 species are recorded from Madeira for the first time, and exact data and locality are given for these in the notes. 32 species, which had previously been recorded from Madeira, are removed from the list of Lepidoptera found in the Madeira Islands being misidentifications, doubtful and unconfirmed records, undetermined species requiring further study and accidentally introduced species which have not established themselves in Madeira. No genus of Lepidoptera is endemic to Madeira, but 81 species are endemic to the Madeira Archipelago, and a further 36 species are considered Macaronesian endemics. One species occurs as two distinct subspecies on Madeira Island and Deserta Grande, respectively. We also comment on taxonomic and nomenclatorial problems in a number of species and provide information on host plants in Madeira and other biological details. Index to Latin names of Lepidoptera and host plants are given. The reference list includes 431 references for Madeiran Lepidoptera. The following nomenclatorial changes are proposed: Clepsis retiferana (Stainton, 1859) is removed from synonymy with C. subcostana (Stainton, 1859) (sp. rev.), Cyclophora maderensis ssp. lundbladi (Bryk, 1940) is a synonym of C. maderensis ssp. maderensis (Bethune-Baker, 1891) (n.

Three new taxa are described: Agonopterix socerbi Sumpich, sp. n. (Depressariidae) from Slovenia, Chrysoclista abchasica ^abretica Sumpich, ssp. n. (Agonoxenidae) from the Czech Republic, and Eulamprotes graecatella Sumpich & Skyva, sp. n. (Gelechiidae) from Greece. The previously unknown female of Megacraspedus albovenata Junnilainen, 2010 (Gelechiidae) is also described. Xenopathia no- vaki (Rebel, 1891) (Blastobasidae) is figured for the first time including genitalia of both sexes.
