PARENTAL CONTROLS FOR Nintendo offers an easy and robust means to help keep your child safe while using the Nintendo Switch and playing online. By setting up Parental Controls, you can manage a multiple of options, including play times, play duration, and restrict games with mature ratings.

HOW TO ACTIVATE PARENTAL CONTROLS ON THE NINTENDO SWITCH

❏ Launch [System Settings] from the Home screen on your Nintendo Switch ❏ Select [Parental Control Settings] on the right side of the screen ❏ Select [Use this console] ❏ Select [Restriction Level] ❏ Select [Teen], [Pre-Teen], or [Child] to create a pre-made setting

Select [Custom Settings] to manually configure your parental control settings.

MANUAL PARENTAL CONTROL SETTINGS

Under [Custom Settings], you can make additional modifications.

❏ [Restrict ] ❏ manually select the software rating restrictions. You can select from games rated ages 3+ up to games rated for ages 18+ ❏ [Software Rated Organization] ❏ Change the region for your ratings regulations ❏ [Post to Social Media] ❏ Restrict or grant the ability to post screenshots to your social media accounts ❏ Note: Nintendo account users under 13 years old can’t post to social media no matter what the restrictions are set at. ❏ [Communication with others] ❏ Restricts whether or not you can send and receive messages and chats, get user profile information, and view and share images

*When you are done manually configuring parental controls, hit [Next] to save your settings. You will then be asked to enter a four to eight digit PIN, which you will use every time you access Parental Controls in the future.

HOW TO SET UP PARENTAL CONTROLS FROM THE NINTENDO SWITCH PARENTAL CONTROL APP

❏ The app allows you to remotely monitor and modify your child’s parental controls from your . ❏ To use the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls App, you must first download the app from the iOS App Store (Apple devices) or Google Play Store (Android devices). ❏ IMPORTANT: You will need the Switch console nearby for the first time you use the device.

PART 1 On your mobile device… 1. Launch the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on your iPhone or Android device. 2. Create or sign into your Nintendo Account 3. Tap [Next] when asked to confirm that your Switch will be registered to the app. 4. When prompted to enter the code on your screen, follow the instructions to enter it on your Switch console

PART 2 On your Switch console… 1. Launch [System Settings] on your Switch console 2. Select [Parental Controls] 3. Select [Parental Control Settings] 4. Select [Use your Smart Device] 5. Select [Yes] when asked if you have the Parental Controls app. 6. Select [Enter Registration Code] 7. Enter the Registration Code you see on your iPhone or Android device and hit OK 8. Select [Register]

PART 3 Back on your mobile device... 1. Go back to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app and tap Set Parental Controls 2. Set a daily limit on play from [no limit] up to [six hours] 3. Tap [Next] 4. Set the [Restriction Level] to your desired settings 5. Select [Teen], [Pre-Teen], or [Child] to create a pre-made setting 6. Tap [Next]

Notes: ● You’ll be asked to enable push notifications to get a monthly summary of your child’s Nintendo Switch game activity. Tap [Continue] and the tap [Allow] ● You will automatically be assign a four-digit PIN when you set up the Parental Controls. To change it, go to Console Settings > PIN > and change your PIN.

HOW TO ENABLE PASSWORD RESTRICTIONS IN THE NINTENDO eSHOP ON YOUR SWITCH CONSOLE

Parents can enable the ability to require sign in with your password to make purchases.

1. Launch [System Settings] from the Home screen on your Nintendo Switch. 2. Scroll down and select [Users] 3. Select the account you want to re-enable password restrictions in the eShop 4. Scroll down and select [Nintendo eShop Settings] 5. Scroll down to Password-Entry Settings and select [Change] 6. Select [Enter] 7. Hit [Save] or press A on your controller to save
