She has traveled the world and often refers to herself as “The Gypsy”. Yes, NEON HITCH, has lived an extraordinary life from training as a trapeze artist to traveling the globe! The British singer and songwriter learned at a very young age to embrace her individuality and take every opportunity that life could offer. It wasn’t just her parents who recognized her destiny of stardom by giving her the birth name of “Neon”. Ms. Hitch truly radiates an energy that is best described as funky, fun, and FLUORENCENT!

This brilliant diva’s music career first made major headway in the U.S. in 2011 when she caught the attention of with her online Myspace.com profile. She took her music career to new heights by creating unique covers to popular hip hop songs from artists such as , , , and Mac Miller. Neon has since been signed to Warner Bros Records and has released her debut album, Beg Borrow and Steal.

I was able to catch up with this Gypsy Goddess in between her travels and we caught up on her personal journey with music, fashion, and philosophy on success! Photo By: www.santiagofelipe.com

Neon, your name itself represents your Super Star quality! Did you always want to be involved in the music industry? When did you realize that you wanted to be a singer and songwriter?

I’ve always been a performer – and I knew I wanted to be a star. Traveling with my mum and sisters in the circus as well as my dad being in the music industry as a lighting technician – it’s been part of my life forever. (I) only realized at age 16 that I had a real voice and songwriting ability.

Let’s talk about your amazing and unique style. What other celebrities or fashion icons inspire you?

Marilyn Monroe, Carmen Miranda, Dolly Parton, Erykah Badu, Clara Bow – beautiful fearless females.

It certainly seems you have lived an interesting and chaotic life from being a trapeze artist and street performer, to traveling and living in many parts of the world. What do you do to keep yourself grounded and focused?

I do a lot of yoga – in fact I just started my own yoga company called Bonita Neon Yoga – which is all about living a beautiful, bright life. Check us out! Twitter: @BonitaNeonYoga

You have such a unique approach to music intertwining styles of electro pop, jazz, and hip hop. Who are some of your favorite artists/DJs/producers to collaborate with or work with musically and why?

I really have a magical connection with the talented writer/producer team Kinetics & One Love. They get my sound and my story. I would love to work with Jai Paul – his sound is dope and the fact that he’s a world artist resonates with me. I like artists who make their own lane.

We, at Womazing.com, believe every woman should embrace their real life Superpowers! What message would you give to other women who are struggling to find their inner “Gypsy” Goddess?

Make your own luck. Work with what you’ve got. Instead of envying others or wishing you were different – embrace your beauty, your situation, your talents. Find a way to turn what you have into your own good fortune. That’s the gypsy way.

Ms. Hitch, you are Womazing! Thank you for sharing the love and rockin’ with Womazing.com!
