Join us throughout the year at these special events: Start the New Year off on the right foot by participating in the annual Mansfield Run with Heart. Choose from a chip-timed half marathon or 5K run. Or, sign the whole family up for the Snowman Run 5K that ends with s’mores and hot chocolate. Mansfield is the pickle capital of Texas, and the spring fun starts in March with the annual Pickle Parade & Palooza in Historic Downtown Mansfield. Start by running in the Pickle Palooza 5K or 10K, watch the World’s Only St. Paddy’s Pickle Parade, and enjoy the after party on Main Street. The Barks & Rec 5K is a fun run in March open to all individuals who would like to run, with or without, a furry friend. Dogs from the Mansfield Animal Shelter are available for those who want to be teamed up with a running partner. One of the most honored one-city, one-book programs in the country takes place in April with Mansfield Reads! The month-long event invites residents to read a selected book and participate in discussion groups and other special activities, and wraps up with an evening with the featured author. The Annual Rockin’ 4th of July is one of the area’s largest Independence Day celebrations at Big League Dreams Sports Park with a festival and a spectacular fireworks show. As part of the month’s patriotic activities, kids can participate in the fully USAT sanctioned Red, White & Rockin’ Kids’ Triathlon at Water Park. Music Alley, a family-friendly music and arts festival, kicks off fall with a variety of bands on multiple stages, live interactive art and creative activities on Main Street in Historic Downtown Mansfield. Veterans Day is celebrated in November with a parade honoring our local military followed by an Honorary Military Salute. The holiday season in Mansfield starts the first weekend in December with Hometown Holidays, a community-wide celebration that begins on Friday night with a tree-lighting, visits with Santa Claus, and fireworks at City Hall. On Saturday, Historic Downtown Mansfield comes alive with the sounds of the season at the Hometown Holidays Parade. On Sunday, the Mansfield Women’s Club hosts the annual Holiday Tour of Homes, showcasing beautifully decorated homes. Local Attractions

Hawaiian Falls Mansfield 490 Heritage Parkway S. The Torpedo is one of five large water slides that takes visitors on thrilling rides. Cabanas are available for rental. The park is open for the summer beginning Memorial Day weekend. Mansfield Historical Museum & Heritage Center 102 N. Farr Best Theater 109 N. The Walnut Creek Linear Park offers 1.9 miles of trails, connecting McKnight Park, Katherine Rose Memorial Park and Town Park. Athletic facilities include the Mansfield Sports Complex, McKnight Park East, Philip Thompson Soccer Complex and Hardy Allmon Soccer Complex.

Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park 1650 Matlock Road Mansfield, TX 76063 www.olivernaturepark.com Oliver Nature Park is named after Elmer W. Oliver, a Mansfield resident and the original landowner. As Mansfield’s only nature park, Oliver Nature Park offers unique classes and activities for all ages. Katherine Rose Memorial Park 303 N. Walnut Creek Dr. Mansfield, TX 76063 www.mansfieldparks.com Originally a pecan orchard, Rose Park is the site of many large festivals and special events. One of the most popular features at the 24-acre park is a 1/2-mile lighted concrete walking/biking trail that serves as a major trail head connection to the Walnut Creek Linear Park.

A unique feature of the park is the 600- seat amphitheater for outdoor concerts and events.

Mansfield ISD Athletic Complex 3700 E. Broad St. Mansfield, TX 76063 www.mansfieldisd.org The Mansfield Independent School District’s athletic complex features the 11,000- seat Vernon Newsom Stadium and the highly ranked MISD Natatorium. The stadium features a 10-story press box, a Jumbotron score and video board, administrative facilities, a community room and locker rooms. The natatorium features an eight-foot deep pool that can be configured from eight to 24 lanes, two diving platforms, pro shop, concession stand and visitor seating.

Joe Pool Lake www.joe-pool-lake.org The 7,700 acre lake borders a portion of southeast Mansfield and features two marinas and four parks, including two state parks. Minutes from Mansfield is Loyd Park, managed by the City of Grand Prairie.
