N E U Download-Vertrieb von vergriffenen Chumbawamba-Back-Katalog-Alben : „Pictures of Starving Children Sell Records“ (Digital Download only - Westpark 87230) „Never Mind The Ballots“ (Digital Download only - Westpark 87231) „Anarchy“ (Digital Download only - Westpark 87232) „Showbusiness!“ (Digital Download only - Westpark 87233) „Swinging With Raymond“ (Digital Download only - Westpark 87234) Chumbawamba wurden vor 40 Jahren gegründet, 1986 erschien der erste Longplayer der Band „Pictures of Starving Children Sell Records“ als Kommentar zum Live Aid Projekt Bob Geldorfs. / Katakombe (Trio) aktuelle CD: 22.09.2012 Merzig / Stadthalle (Trio) Trio (87181) 23.09.2012 Düsseldorf / Savoy-Theater (Trio) Anne Haigis: 22.06.2012 Hainichen 23.06.2012 Dresden 29.06.2012 Gengenbach 30.06.2012 Püttlingen 14,07,2012 Bad Salzungen aktuelle CD: 29.07.2012 Gütersloh Wanderlust (87203) Kraja: 28.07.2012 Hess. • Reclaim the Streets, the Protestival and the Creative Transformation of the City
Finisterra, XLVii, 94, 2012, pp. 103-118103 RECLAIM THE STREETS, THE PROTESTIVAL aND THE CREaTiVE TRaNSFoRMaTioN oF THE CiTY anDré carMo1 abstract – the main goal of this article is to reflect upon the relationship between creativity and urban transformation. it stems from the assumption that creativity has a para- doxical nature as it is simultaneously used for the production of the neoliberal city and by those seeking to challenge it and build alternative urban realities. first, we put forth a criti- cal review of the creative city narrative, focused on richard florida’s work, as it progres- sively became fundamental for the neoliberal city. afterwards, and contrasting with that dominant narrative, we describe a trajectory of Reclaim the Streets that provides the basis for our discussion of the protestival (protest + carnival) as its main creative force of urban transformation. Keywords: Creativity, urban transformation, Reclaim the Streets, protestival. Resumo – reclaiM the streets, o protestival e a transForMação criativa Da ciDaDe.

  • CAPITOLO 1: CULTURE DI RESISTENZA 1.1. Do It Yourself Oggetto

BLACK FLAG 2015/16 issue 237 £3 SQUATS AND RESISTANCE On political occupation in a time of crisis ALSO IN THIS ISSUE Scotland and anarchism | polling | patriarchy and men’s rights Photo: joh.sh/CC Radical Routes | lessons from animal rights | new Luddism Trade Union Bill | Breathing Utopia | the fall of Victor Serge | Reviews Editorial Welcome to the new issue of Black Flag. We are still appearing annually but want to become more frequent, and we need your help for that — in writing, editing, distributing and selling. We are also thinking about changing format from A4 magazine to A5 journal from the next issue. Watch this space! Two unexpected events occurred since our last issue. First, the Tories squeezed to a Parliamentary majority based on 24% of votes. Talk about rewarding failure! The Labour right, echoing right- wing media, proclaimed this was because Ed Miliband was too “left- wing” and the “centre” needed to be reclaimed. That this “centre” is moving rightwards with the Tories is lost on them — but, then, the second unexpected event showed where their loyalties lie. We are, of course, referring to Jeremy Corbyn becoming Labour leader. Absurd attacks began immediately. That reaction is expected, but why the hysteria? Perhaps because after 30 years of neoliberalism the ruling class are still worried. Neoliberalism On a limb: The support of the social safety net is dying off for our red and black parasite has not lived up to its spin — hardly killer, but the Black Flag ladybird soldiers on. Picture: Anya Brennan surprising given that was always rhetoric to hide an agenda of empowering the few.

  • Aesthetic of Our Anger. Anarcho-Punk, Politics and Music Edited by Mike Dines & Matthew Worley
Minor Compositions Open Access Statement – Please Read This book is open access. This work is not simply an electronic book; it is the open access version of a work that exists in a number of forms, the traditional printed form being one of them. All Minor Compositions publications are placed for free, in their entirety, on the web. This is because the free and autonomous sharing of knowledges and experiences is important, especially at a time when the restructuring and increased centralization of book distribution makes it difficult (and expensive) to distribute radical texts effectively. The free posting of these texts does not mean that the necessary energy and labor to produce them is no longer there. One can think of buying physical copies not as the purchase of commodities, but as a form of support or solidarity for an approach to knowledge production and engaged research (particularly when purchasing directly from the publisher). The open access nature of this publication means that you can: • read and store this document free of charge • distribute it for personal use free of charge • print sections of the work for personal use • read or perform parts of the work in a context where no financial transactions take place However, it is against the purposes of Minor Compositions open access approach to: • gain financially from the work • sell the work or seek monies in relation to the distribution of the work • use the work in any commercial activity of any kind • profit a third party indirectly via use or distribution of the work • distribute in or through a commercial body (with the exception of academic usage within educational institutions) The intent of Minor Compositions as a project is that any surpluses generated from the use of collectively produced literature are intended to return to further the development and production of further publications and writing: that which comes from the commons will be used to keep cultivating those commons.
