The Te Awanga Detour Affectionately known as the gated community Te Awanga is full of Wellingtonians, artists, beachcombers, and wineries! The Tour starts at Black Barn wanders through Havelock and includes some great food and wine locations, some of NZ most successful artists and galleries as well as the most eccentric pottery, eclectic card shop or stunning picnic spots.

If you love a walk on the wild side, good food and beautiful things this is for you.

Costs, Free Tickets & Discounts • All Tours are $245 up to a maximum of 6 people and include one Foodie Pack and one Hunter Gatherer Pack [your itinerary, maps, lunch info, discount info etc] • Additional Tours can be purchased at $125 [within 2 weeks of the start of the first Tour] • Free Tasting tickets, discounts etc are valid for 3 days [non-transferable] • Special demos and appointments are only valid on the day of your tour – they cannot be transferred as they have been arranged specifically for you • It’s your responsibility to show the Map with your details to get your discount or free tasting – please be subtle as this is a special arrangement

Lunch You can do any or all of the following

• A Picnic en Route – you get to amass a small fortune of snacks, salads, pastries, dumplings, and other goodies and consume them at one of the picnic spots marked on your maps • Bistros, Café & Wineries - stop at one of the cafes, bistros, or wineries on your maps, but the longer you linger the fewer detours you can take, and things start closing after 4.00 ….] General • All Tours are designed to take 2 or 3 days at a leisurely pace or roughly 6 hours if you only have a day, you can slow it down or speed it up by taking less detours, walking more or generally enjoying the Tour at your own pace, after all it IS a holiday • Remember local businesses need your support so, if you love what you see I hope you’ll buy some to eat now AND to take home • All care is taken to check that the various venues are open [especially any that are more than 20 minutes from Havelock North] and are post-Covid compliant however, due to Covid, opening times and days are constantly changing. • Cancellation & Refunds – if you cancel
