This sitting is the Fifth Session of the Sixty-first General Assembly. A Government Bill is distinguished by designating the portfolio of the Minister who introduced it. A Private Member’s Bill (non- Government public bill) or Private or Local Bill is distinguished by giving the constituency of the member who introduced it. In Nova Scotia, all Government Bills and Private Members’ Bills, after receiving second reading, are referred to the Law Amendments Committee unless the House otherwise determines.
