Thinophilus sinclairi sp. nov. is described from the coast of the Sea of Azov, Ukraine, and from northern Kazakhstan. The new species is similar to T. spinitarsis Becker but differs from it in the structure of the hypopygium, apex of fore tibia without long black dorsal seta, and seg- ments 2–4 of fore tarsi with long posterodorsal black setae. Thinophilus sinclairi sp. nov. описан с побережья Азовского моря (Украина) и из Северного Казахстана. Новый вид близок к T. spinitarsis Becker, от которого отличается строением гипопигия, отсутствием длинной черной дорсальной щетинки на вершине передней голени и наличием длинных черных заднедорсальных щетинок на 2–4-м сегментах передних лапок. Some years ago it came to my knowledge that this genus occurs in Japan, and this stimulated my particular interest in this genus on account of its distributional pattern. With the help of many entomologists there have been available for my study a good number of species of the genus collected in Japan and Taiwan in addition to the already described three from North America. A revision of the genus on the basis of these species is here attempted in the hope that it should engage the attention of entomologists in both Asia and America to this interesting genus, since it is quite possible that our knowledge still covers small part of the genus. The genus Nepalomyia is more fully characterized and the Nearctic species are revised. Nepalomyia nigricornis (Van Duzee) and N. sombrea (Harmston & Knowlton) are reassigned and redescribed. Two new species, N. dilaticosta Runyon & Hurley and N. hesperia Runyon & Hurley, are described. Diostrucus morimotoi sp. nov. is distinctive in having additional setulae on scutellum, and extensively yellow legs and it is described from southern part of the Korean Peninsula. Diostrclcus maculatus Negrobov, 1980, described from the Primorsky Territory is here recorded from many localities in southern Korea. Key words: Taxonomy, Diptera, Dolichopodidae, Diostracus, Korea. new species. Introduction The hydrophorine genus Diostracus Loew, 1861, includes dolichopodids living on wet rocks and stones in mountain streams.Although it is widely distributed in the northern hemisphere from Europe to North America through Eastern Asia. it prospers extremely in temperate Eastern Asia, where 62 out of 66 named species are distributed. This genus is known from Europe, the best-surveyed region for dolichopodid fauna. only by Diostrucus Zeucostomus (Loew) from Alps, and from N. America by three species. Numbers of species in each region in Eastern Asia are as follows: Far East Russia (5). Japan (12), Taiwan (3), China (l), Burma (4), Nepal (37+1 unnamed). -

Cumming Three genera (Isodrapetis Collin, Chersodromia Walker, Elaphropeza Macquart) and six species of Tachydromiinae (Hybotidae) are recorded from the Galápagos Islands. One new species of Isodrapetis (I. meridionalis sp. n.)andthreenewspeciesof Chersodromia (C. floreana sp. n., C. galapagensis sp. n., C. isabela sp. n.)are described. Elaphropeza zonalis (Curran) is redescribed and a fourth species of Chersodromia is identified based on a single female specimen. A key to all Galápagos species is provided. Isodrapetis is recorded for the first time outside of New Zealand. The affinities of the Galápagos Tachydromiinae to the New World fauna are discussed. Introduction The family Dolichopodidae, commonly known as Long legged flies, are one of the most diverse families of Diptera (Grichanov,1999). Adult dolichopodids vary in size from about 1-9 mm in length and can be recognized by their elongate legs, reduced wing venation, aristate antennae, and relatively slender build. Most species are metallic greenish-blue to greenish-bronze, while some others are non-metallic yellowish (e.g., some species of Achalcus Loew, Argyrochlamys Lamb, Neurigona Rondani, Xanthochlorus Loew and Xanthina Aldrich), or brown to blackish (e.g., several species of Micromorphus Mik and Medetera Fischer von Waldheim). Dolichopodids are widespread and are found in all zoogeographic regions (Robinson,1970; Dyte, 1975; Dyte and Smith ,1980; Bickel and Dyte, 1989; Negrobov, 1991; Pollet et al., 2004). In general, adults and larvae prefer moist environments including stream and lake margins, humid forests, saltmarshes, seashores, and freshwater seepages, where they often occur in large numbers.
