Previous F3 title competitors include Michael Caruso (V8 Supercar), Karl Reindler (A1GP/V8 Supercar), Will Power (Indycar), Mitch Evans (GP2), James Winslow (LMP2), Earl Bamber (LMP1) and Nick Foster (Carrera Cup). Any car from 1/1/2005 through to 31/12/2011 Formula 3 specification is eligible, with the car of choice being either the 2015 champion F311 Dallara, or 2014 Champion M11 Mygale. Both are available to purchase, or lease, domestically or can be imported. Formula 3 Management can provide advice to those wishing to import vehciles. If you don’t want to import, there cars available locally to run in this class. Full lease drives from $130,000 per year, with the variation mainly being around what is offered by the particular team, the number of test days run (which is capped in the series regulations to eight), and the team running the operation. The Premier Class entry fee in 2016 will be $2650 per round + GST + garaging fee, which will vary by circuit. NATIONAL CLASS The Formula 3 National Class is a title within a title, for 2005 to 2007-spec F3 cars. Full lease drives are from $110,000 per year, with the variation again primarily dependent on test days. The National Class entry fee in 2016 will be $2350 per round + GST + garaging fee. KUMHO CUP CLASS The Formula 3 Cup Class, supported by Kumho tyres, is the category for karters looking for their first open-wheel experience, club racers, and up and comers searching for a wings-and-slicks fix. The Kumho Cup is the premier open-wheel club category in Australian motorsport. As national level compeitition on a budget, or a compliment to state series racing, a Kumho Cup campaign is the ideal way to go motor racing in a fun and competitive environment, either with your own team with mentoring assistance from an existing F3 team, or with a professional outfit in an arrive-and-drive scenario. The Kumho Cup will run an innovative new format in 2016, where competitors can enter at any round, but only their 3 best round scores will count, allowing the potential for a single car to be shared over a season between two drivers. Points earned in the class will depend on the number of competitors at each round. The Kumho Cup Class entry fee in 2016 will be $700 per round + GST (including garaging). NOTES FOR ALL CLASSES * Friday practice fee is included in all entry fees. * A one-off series registration fee of $250 will apply, which includes two tickets to the annual presentation dinner, to be held in Sydney on November 13. 2016 AUSTRALIAN FORMULA 3 INFORMATION 4 OUR TEAMS The success of Australian Formula 3 lies in our passionate group of teams, who consistently support the category. The HSRCA 1960s Racing Cars Groups M & O Newsletter No19 July 2012 Ed Holly HSRCA Registrar [email protected] The views expressed in this newsletter are not necessarily those of the Historic Sports and Racing Car Association, the HSRCA, nor that of the editor. The newsletter exists for the benefit of all those who have an interest in the 1960s racing cars, and especially the owners and drivers of these wonderful machines. Welcome to the Winter edition of our newsletter. As you can see our Groups now have a logo – a badge that we can proudly wear on our cars. The design was commissioned with Michael Menzies of Audacitycreative with the brief to produce something that emphasizes our Group designation of M and O, and shows a typical car from the 1960s period, which was very early on was dominated by the rear engine car. Michael did the 2006 Tasman Revival website for us. If you look closely at the car shown, it has a bit of all the major Marques of that period, Lotus, Brabham, etc, and yet you can see a bit of the home grown cars too, like Elfin and Rennmax and then again maybe even the Neal Ford Mk2 or Delta. One hopes that it will in time adorn every eligible M and O logbooked car and maybe a few within the 1960s timeframe cars that compete here from overseas too at the Tasman Revival. A quantity of these will be printed by the kind offer of Bruce Mansell and will be at Wakefield Park in September.
