The party to cele- brate the safe return of the Journey of Hope after visit- ing 19 countries over nearly seven months was attend- ed by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, senior officials, families of journey members and several others. The party started with the Kuwaiti national anthem, followed by verses from the Holy Quran, then a documentary on the details of the journey entitled “Dream Come True”. General Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Journey of Hope Yousef Al- Jassim addressed the event, expressing gratitude to HH the Amir for his continuous support to the journey, which was essential to secure its success. Jassim also appreciated the backing of the prime minister whose “direct support was the major factor for achieving the set goals of the journey”. Member of the boat’s board of trustees and head of the crew Jassem Al-Rashid Al-Bader briefed the gather- ing on the course of the Journey of Hope and the activi- ties carried out in the target countries. The journey embodied the spirit of collective human action and constituted a national epic for Kuwait and the Kuwaiti people, Bader said. At the end of the event, the premier was handed a commemorative plaque in appreciation of the enor- mous attention by Kuwait to persons with disabilities. Sheikh Jaber expressed in a press statement his pride of what the “sons of Kuwait” achieved in the journey “that carried to the world a noble humanitarian message and targets for caring for this dear category of people with their obvious social and sports activities”. He also lauded the persistent efforts by the members of the expedition KUWAIT: HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah is seen with members of the ‘Journey of Hope’ and a commemorative plaque at the Marina and those in charge for their efforts to highlight the “civ- Crescent in Salmiya after the expedition returned to Kuwait yesterday. — KUNA ilized face of Kuwait”. — KUNA Most Gulf firms can Indian embassy explains guarantee prosper with $70 oil By B Izzak other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) action against India, including reducing the states - Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab number of Indian workers in the country KUWAIT: The Indian embassy yesterday Emirates, Qatar and Oman.
