It is with sadness that I write to let you know that our He will leave the parishes Parishes' patron, Lady Morrison, passed away after a in the capable hands of the churchwardens..... short illness. Lady Morrison was very well known across the County - both as the Vice Lord-Lieutenant and as patron to countless good causes that appreciated her Bible Readings for the Church involvement. She worshipped within our parishes on Based Services occasion and at St Leonard's at the Beauchamp Community. She was one of the very few parishioners that asked questions or indeed challenged me on my sermons. She also wanted the church to change: th Sunday 25 October respecting the past of course, but embracing the future Callow End: Nehemiah 8: 1-4, 8-12 was her advice to me. She will be sadly missed. I have Colossians 3: 12-17, Matthew 24: 30-35 written to Jonathan & Lucy at Madresfield Court to Sunday 1st November extend the parishes' condolences at this sad loss at this All Saints Day Zoom Service: sad and challenging time. Rest in peace: Rise in Glory. Revelation 7: 2-12, Matthew 5: 1-12 Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2020 Over the last couple of years, our schools, churches, and communities have sent over 600 boxes to families and children across Central and Eastern Europe with our love at Christmas via Teams4U. This year will be different because of the pandemic - as Christmas will be different and hard for the families in Moldova, Belarus and Romania that are scheduled to receive our shoeboxes this year. Think of the appreciation and thanks that will be received when a family or child gets your box. So, if you are able to pack up a shoe box, with all the restrictions on us all, me included, as regards our ability to go shopping or our health or budget, that would be great. Please ensure any collected shoe boxes are returned to either the Madresfield Early Years Centre, your church, or the vicarage by the FRIDAY 20th NOVEMBER. It will be stored safely before arrangements are made by me to collect and get them to the charity for onward travel. Please do not forget the donation of £2.50 towards travel costs where you can. If you cannot find a shoebox – here is an idea: pack a Christmas Carrier Bag with what you would normally put in a decorated shoe box and donate that instead. The charity will simply load your bag into any spare boxes they can get. If you want to do a shoebox, but cannot, you can sponsor a shoebox to be made up on your behalf. Look at www.teams4u.com for further details. Leaflets will be available in each church and from The Vicarage but most details are on the Teams4U website. This is a difficult year for all of us but lets try and continue to help others too. We do it so well and it is appreciated. Take care and keep safe - Rev Gary If you are over 70 and/or have an underlying medical condition, please consider the merits of Tearfund’s Big coming to a gathered church service.
