Dafür wurde das im Buntsandsteingebiet gelegene Durchströmungsmoor „Die Klosterlausnitzer Sümpfe“ im Naturschutzgebiet Nr. 154 „An den Ziegenböcken“ ausgewählt. Wider Erwarten (v. a. aufgrund der Melioration und nahezu vollständigen Abtorfung des Moores) war dieses Pollendiagramm trotz der zeitlich nur geringen Auflösung sehr aufschlussreich. Die palynologische Untersuchung zeigte nicht nur die subatlantische Vegetationsentwicklung des Moores, wie sie von KARWARTH (1957/59) postuliert wurde, sondern erbrachte außerdem zusätzliche Informationen zur Genese des Moores sowie zur anthropogenen Nutzungsgeschichte des Untersuchungsgebietes, die sich bei früheren Untersuchungen aufgrund des damaligen Forschungsstandes nicht ableiten ließ. Ride time is about 2:20/1:00 respectively 4:00/2.30 hours. Coming from the West (Frankfurt/Main, Kassel, Göttingen) you will have to change trains at Erfurt or Weimar and arrive at the station Jena-West. Ride time is about 2:30 to 3:00 hours. Both stations are in walking distance to the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History (about 15 minutes). From the station Jena-Paradies: Leave the station, cross the street and turn left. Follow the street straight ahead, pass by a roundabout and continue at Kahlaische Straße. After the traffic light (Felsenkellerstraße) pass on to the next intersection (Sandweg) and take the steep driveway on the right to the Max Planck Institute. From station Jena-West: Cross the square in front of the station and walk straight ahead down Hohe Straße. At its end walk down the stairs and turn right into Hainstraße until you reach Felsenkellerstraße. Follow Felsenkellerstraße uphill. The Max Planck Institute is located right at the end of Felsenkellerstraße. Please note: If you take a taxi cab from the station, make sure to tell the driver to take you to the Max Planck Institute at Kahlaische Straße 10.
