Having at its disposal non-refundable European funds for agriculture, Romania must profit from them in order to attract young people, to create workplaces for them, and not least to keep the tra- ditions and local culture stemmed from agriculture. In this issue of the magazine we collected examples of young people who have found their calling in var- ious sectors connected with rural development. We grow up here, on the Oituz Valley, in Hârja, surrounded by hills and mountains; we go to kindergarden, school and then high school and university. We like working and we actually work. The older ones, we have responsibili- ties and we treat them as such. We all want to do more, we want to build a future, to enjoy each other.” said An- cuța, the first child who came here in 1995, when she was two. Today, An- cuța graduated the Faculty of Psychol- ogy and Educational Sciences in the University of Transylvania, Brașov. During this time, she volunteered within centers for helpless children in the country, but she was unable to find all the conditions provided by the foundation „Copii în sânul familiei”. The story of the foundation „Copii în sânul familiei (Children in the bosom of the family)” from Hârja, Bacău County, writes its first lines in 1994, when Mrs. Mary Gibson started a humanitarian project supported by private funding from England. Three houses from Oituz, Hârja village and an apartment from Onești became the place where children from fami- lies with low possibilities were raised, educated and developed. Since 1994 and until today, over 20 children have made and are still making a purpose in life as beneficiaries of the founda- tion. They are „the biggest family in the village” as they like to call them- selves; and most
