The exhibition lasts until October 7, 2018. o projektu/about project Vše začalo výzvou marockého umělce Saida Messariho, který vedl projekt nazvaný Une mer, deux rivages (Jedno moře, dva břehy) a pobytem čtyř evropských umělců v Centru současného umění v Asilahu (MAC.A) v Maroku zorganizovaném ve spolupráci s marockým umělcem Ahlamem Lemsefferem. Po tomto prvním setkáním následovaly výstavy v Centru současného umění v Asilahu MAC.A (2014) a v galerii Noir sur Blanc v Marrakéši (2015). Na základě zkuše- ností ze setkání v severní Africe připravili umělci “projekt ve vývoji” nazvaný Sever/jih/východ/západ (S/J/V/Z), který odráží jejich původ z různých světových stran kontinentu. Doposud byl představen v Římě (Interno 14, 2017) a Madridu (Espacio BOP, 2017). Umělci chápou svůj projekt jako příspěvek k tolik potřeb- nému přijetí toho, že jsme rozdílní, máme různé životní styly i různou víru, a spojují dohromady své přání tolerance, vytvořením sítě vzájemnosti, přátelství a harmonie v multietnické, kulturně rozmanité Evropě. Autoři projektu: Cristina Ataíde, Lisabon, Portugalsko (www.cristinataide.com); Angiola Bonanni, Řím, Itálie (www.angiolabonanni.com); Marie Filippovová, Brno, Česká republika (http://www.umeleckabeseda.cz/odbor-vytvarny/clenove/filippovova-marie), Gisela Weimann, Berlín, Německo (www.giselaweimann.de). It all began with a suggestion from the Moroccan artist Said Messari, that led to a project titled Une mer, deux rivages (One sea, two shores). The prelude was a residency of the four European artists in the center for contemporary art of Asilah (MAC.A) in Morocco, in cooperation with the Moroccan artist Ahlam Lemseffer. This first encounter was followed by exhibitions at MAC.A (2014) and at Noir sur Blanc Gallery in Marrakech (2015). Incorporating the experiences from their joint North African encounter the artists developed a project in progress, called North-South-East-West (N/S/E/W) that reflects their provenance from different cardinal points of the continent. So far it has been presented in Rome, Italy (Interno 14, 2017) and Madrid, Spain (Espacio BOP, 2017). The artists understand their project as a contribution to the much-needed acceptance that we are all different and have diverse concepts of life and believe, and they combine their desire for tolerance and harmony in a multi-ethnic, culturally diverse Europe with the building up of a network of reciprocity and friendship.     FRAGMENTS OF THE OTHER ABSTRACT: An ongoing visual dialogue between the independent artist Gisela Weimann, Berlin/Germany and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andor Kőmives, University of Art and Design Cluj- Napoca/Romania. By exchanging bits and pieces of drawings and paintings from their work tables the artists give each other fragmented visual material at hand that is the starting point for joint collages. This collaborative work process made them discover their common European traditions as well as the inspiring differences of their cultural roots and opened the pleasure of accepting and enjoying the mystery and the enrichment of otherness. FREE TO CHANGE, A WORK IN PROGRESS Prologue Andor Kömives and Gisela Weimann met for the first time in 1998 in Madrid at the art faculty of the Universidad Complutense. She was invited as guest lecturer and he was benefiting from a research scholarship. It was then that the plan for a joint project was born. The development of the concept and the practical start took place in 1999, when Andor Kömives invited Gisela Weimann as guest lecturer at the painting department of the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. For their presentation in the frame of the 13th Congress European Culture the artists developed a performance with a personal narrative about the history and the development of their project.
