Great spirit and the 13:0 loss didn’t do justice to the team. It’s worth looking at the youngsters because they will probably become Senior Lions one day. See the match report, page 7, mentioning Alan Go. Money is tight in this sport so you can see easily that we are a ‘no frills’ team. Counting the crowd at matches reveals around 50 or so. This year the rink is being very strict in asking all spectators to leave the rink just before matches so that they can ask each one to pay an entry fee. Don’t forget the Lions get a percentage of the gate receipts so it’s not all going to the Rink coffers. This is a bumper issue tonight because I have several match reports from Julieanne covering October games. The good news is that the club have ordered programme covers, so soon we will be back to professional programme covers. Lagen har väldigt stora personalkostnader årligen vilket orsakar för många företag tryck på likviditetssituationen. Men för att uppnå goda resultat krävs det för de flesta lag framgång på isen, och som förutsättning för det måste man investera på personalen. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att även om det finns några få lag som gör goda resultat på årlig basis, så planerarmajoriteten av lagen runt ett nollresultat och försöker upprätthålla det de har för tillfället. Vissa lag har stora problem att hållas på ytan på egen hand och har behövt och kommer fortfarande att behöva utomstående stöd för att hållas kvar i ligan.

On kuitenkin yksi huolenaihe, joka toistuu keskusteluissa kerta toisensa jälkeen: Mestiksen asema sarjajärjestelmässä, jossa SM-liigassa pelaa 15 joukkuetta eikä sarjaan voi nousta urheilullisin perustein karsintojen kautta. Monien laji-ihmisten mielestä tällainen sarjajärjestelmämalli ei tee hyvää suomalaiselle jääkiekolle. Mestiksen näivettymisestä ja seurojen huolestuttavasta tilasta on keskusteltu paljon mediassa, mutta akateemista tutkimusta ilmiöstä ei juuri ole tuotettu. Siksi aiheen tutkiminen on perusteltua. Mestiksen ja SM-liigan väliset karsinnat poistettiin kauden 2012–2013 jälkeen ja käyttöön otettiin niin kutsuttu lisenssimenettely. Seuraavien vuosien aikana SM-liiga laajentui 15 joukkueen sarjaksi. Mestiksen suurseurat Jukurit, KooKoo ja Sport nostettiin juuri lisenssimenettelyn turvin pääsarjaan. Karsintojen poistaminen ja kolmen suurseuran poistuminen on horjuttanut Mestiksen dynamiikkaa.     NEW YORK RANGERS PROSPECT REPORT: NOV. 9 • Vitali Kravtsov has recorded 10 points (eight goals, two assists), a plus-seven rating, and 58 shots on goal in 16 KHL games with Traktor thus far this season. The Rangers’ first round pick (ninth overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft has notched a point in eight of the 16 games he has played in 2020-21, including a goal in seven of the 16 contests. He has also recorded four or more shots on goal in eight of the 16 games he has played this season, and he has either led all skaters in shots on goal or has tied for the game-high in shots on goal in six of the 16 contests. Despite missing seven games this season, he is tied for fifth in the KHL in even strength goals (seven) and is tied for 16th in the league in goals in 2020-21. Kravtsov is also tied for sixth in the KHL in shots on goal per game (3.6) and is tied for 11th in the league (min. 14 games played) in goals per game (0.50) this season. He leads Traktor in goals and even strength goals, and he is tied for second on the team in shots on goal in 2020-21. Among KHL players who are in their U22 season or younger in 2020-21, Kravtsov ranks first in goals, is tied for second in points, and ranks third in plus/minus rating this season.
