I began making music at the age of four. According to my mother, once I just sat down at the piano and played back a tune by ear. My parents were watching and said to each other, maybe we should give him music lessons. First, I started to play the organ. I did that until I was From the age of 11 to 13, I gave up music entirely. And then at 13 I picked up the guitar, and after one-and-a-half years I started practicing intensively. I began playing in rock bands, and it was there that I discovered that the music I liked to write was always instrumental. The film that most influenced me was the Western, The Magnificent Seven. As a child, I was a huge fan of Westerns. How did you get your start there? As is often the case, that was pure chance. After college in Boston, I was playing in a cool band that had been relatively successful. In the winter holidays, I always flew to Germany to visit my parents. So he knows about Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) entire music career. I told him about how I was playing in a band in Boston, but that I would actually prefer to be composing music for films. He told me that he knew someone who knew someone, and two weeks later I moved to Los Angeles and began working at Remote Control. He taught me how things work during the production of major films, and how to approach meetings with directors. And since you've been writing the music for Game of Thrones, one of the most successful TV series worldwide. How did you get involved with that? That was thanks to my agent. The show's producers were interested in me. I got a call, and then a meeting was arranged. Before our meeting, the first two episodes of the first Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) were sent to me for review. I watched the episodes and my jaw dropped; it was already clear then Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) great, and how complicated, the series would be. After that, we met and talked about musical concepts. How did you come up with a musical concept for the show? The producers asked me that very question right at the Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute). Because there are so many storylines and characters, it would have been too complicated to give everyone his or her own musical theme. That's why we decided to only write themes for individual plots and specific families. If a character from a particular family ends up moving into the foreground, then in some cases we've also developed an original theme for him or her. We let ourselves be guided by the plot. I always use the character of Theon Greyjoy as an example. In the first season, when he didn't have much to do, he didn't have his own theme. But once he began to do his own thing in the second season and became more of an important figure, then we began developing a score for him. In that way, we've continuously expanded the show's music. Did you make a conscious decision against that classic medieval sound? Despite these thematic elements, and the medieval aspect of the series, we decided to tackle the music differently. And so I had to think about which instruments I wanted to work with. The deep sound of a cello, for example, stands out quite prominently. In pieces like "Love in the Eyes" from the first season, you also included some ethnic instruments and sounds. Did you draw musical inspiration from your Iranian Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) And I think that was something that the show's producers found interesting. They wanted a "global Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) I think. The fact that we are in this fantasy world with characters like Daenerys Targaryen and the Dothraki people Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) their ethnic traits allowed us to open the door to instruments like Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) taiko [Japanese drum] and the duduk, a wind instrument with a different sound from the Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute). That's why I like to experiment with different sounds. Intrigue, sex and dragons in 'Game of Thrones' The northern warrior Jon Snow Kit Haringtonthe lord commander of the Night's Watch, was stabbed and left to die by his own team at the end of the fifth season — but he survived. In the fictional "Game of Thrones" world of Westeros, the Night's Watch defends the seven kingdoms against supernatural dangers that lurk beyond The Wall to the north. The season 7 finale confirmed that Jon was born Aegon Targaryen. Sansa Stark Sophie Turnerlong believed to be Jon Snow's half-sister, has already suffered quite a bit in her short life. Then, their marriage was dissolved and Sansa was married to another member Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) the ruling Lannister family. It's not easy being a princess in Westeros…. Arya Stark Maisie Williams is Sansa's little sister. After the death of their father, she fled the royal court and disguised herself as a boy. Since then, she's been wandering through Westeros with Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) thing in mind: revenge for her father's death. Meanwhile, she's fallen in with a sect and gone blind. Sometimes, "Games of Thrones" can seem like a soap opera with medieval costumes. What would a soap opera be without a mean stepmother? In this case it's not Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) stepmother, but a queen mother named Cersei Lannister Lena Headey. She's a master of intrigue, and goes to all ends to have influence over the Lannister clan. For Pirates of the Caribbean (Flute) immoral behavior, she's was sent to the dungeon and got a punishing makeover. She then had to sport a modern short hairdo against her will. One of Cersei's ugly secrets is her incestuous relationship with her twin brother Jamie Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. He's the father of her three children, a fact that has always been officially denied by the palace. Jamie is the commander of the Kingsguard and keeps out of the political intrigue in Westeros. He's nevertheless a villain — but a charming one. The wine-loving dwarf is the secret star of the series. Tyrion compensates for his physical shortcomings with his wit, and "Game of Thrones" fans like to quote his wisecracks.

This course examines film sound practices, focusing on cross-modal perception and cognition: on ways in which sounds influence what we “see” and images influence what we “hear.” Classes are conducted in a lecture format and involve multimedia demonstrations. We will be tackling the following questions: • How and why does music and sound effects work in films? • How did they come to be paired with the motion picture? • How did film sound conventions develop and what are their theoretical, socio-cultural, and cognitive bases? • How does non-speech sound contribute to a film’s narrative and how can such contribution be creatively explored? Aesthetics of the Motion Picture Soundtrack – Spring 2014 – Section 01 Page 1 of 12 COURSE DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES Course examines Classical Hollywood as well as more recent film soundtrack practices, focusing on the interpretation of film sound relative to ‘expectancy’ theories of meaning and emotion.

  • The Thirst Always Wins: the Lasting Legacy of 'Blade: Trinity'
7/13/2018 index.html The Thirst Always Wins: The Lasting Legacy Of 'Blade: Trinity' Abigail, Blade, and Hannibal walk away from a job well done. [Credit: New Line Cinema] file:///C:/Users/Ben/Documents/Creators.co%20Articles/4366547/index.html 1/4 7/13/2018 index.html How does one define a "bad movie"? What are the qualities that separate the Citizen Kanes from The Rooms of this world? Maybe it's poor acting, where the players involved either don't care or don't seem to understand the roles they've been given; perhaps it's a shoddy script, where events don't properly link together and the characters just seem to go from place to place for no real reason; or could it be cinematography, where a director just can't frame the action or pace things in a way that keeps us engaged? You could probably list any number of things, down to shoddy visuals or a messy soundtrack that keeps you from enjoying a film the way the creators intended. Blade: Trinity is a movie often slung into the schlock bins of movie retailers, with aggregate scores not even half of what its predecessors pull in. Yet, when viewed in full, it's hard to see where issue can really be taken — especially given the amazing struggles the cast and crew had to overcome, and the hidden talent it revealed to the world. Error loading playlist: Playlist load error: Error loading file So, let's start with the easiest one to tackle: How's the acting? Well, Trinity has a slew of big names with some choice indie actors and actresses mixed in, by writer/director David S.
