Answered On:20.11.2000 New Telephone Exchanges in A.P Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi GOVERNMENT OF INDIA COMMUNICATIONS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO:6 ANSWERED ON:20.11.2000 NEW TELEPHONE EXCHANGES IN A.P SULTAN SALAHUDDIN OWAISI Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state: (a) whether Andhra Pradesh telecom circle is planning to open about 200 new telephone exchanges in remote areas during 2000- 2001; (b) if so, the details thereof, location-wise; (c) whether A.P. telecom circle needs extra allotment of 2000 kms (1500 kms of 6F and 500 kms of 12F) fibre for the year 2000-2001; (d) if so, whether A.P. Government have requested his Ministry to allot required cable on priority basis to AP Telecom circle; and (e) if so, the action taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard? Answer THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS (SHRI TAPAN SIKDAR) (a) & (b): Yes, Sir. It is planned to open 300 new telephone exchanges in the rural/remote areas of Andhra Pradesh Telecom. Circle during 2000-2001. Location-wise details of 82 exchanges commissioned from 1.4.2000 to 15.11.2000 are given in Annexure-I and the details of 218 exchanges planned to be commissioned during the remaining period of the year 2000-2001 are given in Annexure- II. (c) to (e):Yes, Sir. Additional 2000 kms optical fibre cable (6F=1500 kms, 12F=500 kms) has been allotted to A. P. Telecom. Circle. Efforts are being made to procure the required material. The department has organized a national seminar LAB-X 2K17 on “current trends in bio technology, agricultural research and innovation” along with the Department of Bio Technology (UG and PG) on 21st September 2017. ● Purpose: The main objective of the event was to encourage and guide students to inculcate interest in the current issues of science and to aspire to get into the field of research which was successfully achieved. ● Report: On 21stSeptember 2017 a national seminar- LAB-X 2K17 was organized by the departments of Biotechnology and Agricultural Sciences on “Current Trends in Biotechnology, Agriculture Research and Innovation” in Inigo hall at Loyola academy. It’s an interdepartmental and inter disciplinary seminar. The event included an inaugural ceremony, two technical sessions, poster presentation, and extempore competition and concluded with a valedictory function. The chief guest for the event was Prof. Ch. Venkata Ramana Devi (Dean, Faculty of sciences, OU). The event began with the invoking of god’s blessing followed by classical welcome dance, lightening of lamp, honoring the Dignitaries, Address by Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. P.
