You only have to look at the properties that aren’t selling above the £600,000 number, yes LBTT is significant now at this level but so is the number of people who are looking in this region in . Is this because of the changes and tightening of affordability criteria? Is it the number of people from elsewhere in the UK/rest of the world no longer coming to Scotland to live and work? I don’t know the exact number of these of course but we know with the enquiries we get and it is certainly not what it used to be. But for those people looking to trade up or down below these numbers it couldn’t be better, we are double the viewings per house than this time last year, this is significant!
