New India Manthan - Vision- 2022 Dist. Tapi-Vyara About Tapi In year 2007, Tapi District was formed out of some Talukas separated from erstwhile Surat District. Vyara is head quarter of Tapi District, which comprises Seven Talukas – Vyara, Songadh, Valod, Uchhal, Dolvan, Kukarmunda and Nizar. Recently in 2007 on 27th September, as a result of bifurcation of Surat district, two new districts came into existence: Surat and Tapi. Vyara became the headquarter of Tapi district and Surat became the headquarter of Surat district. Location of Tapi is in Southern Gujarat, sharing its borders with Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. Vyara, Songadh, Valod, Uchhal, Nizar are listed as the Seven Talukas of Tapi. The Princely state of Baroda called Gaekwads ruled the Vyara town (headquarter of Tapi district, presently). It is majorly inhabited by Chaudhari, Patel, Gamit Shah, Desai, Pancholi, Panchal, Rana, Brahmin. The ex-chief minister of Gujarat state Amarsingh Chaudhery (died in 2003) was born in Vyara. Tapi ditrict has dense forest with significant production of Bamboos. Places of Interest include Fort Songadh, Hindustan Bridge, Desvada Dam, Tapi River, Ukai Dam, Gaumukh. Suresh Joshi (writer) is among the notable personalities who belong to Tapi district. Contributing to New India – Manthan Vision – 2022, following key points which covering all the sectors will be our Sankalp: 1) Health a) Reduction in Malnutrition in total children for age group 0-5 years near to zero. b) Reduction in Leprosy Prevalance Rate below 1. 2) Education a) Continuous quality improvement of education in Tapi district by wide use of technology, awareness training to the teachers and developing smart class system. 3) Irrigation a) To cover command area of Ukai Left Bank High Level Canal -------- 11300 Ha. b) To provide Irrigation Facility through Lift Irrigation -------------------48805 Ha. c) To construct check dams benefiting -----------------------------------------4474 Ha. d) To create irrigation facility through community wells / ponds ----------1682 Ha. e) Improvement of Existing Canal system-------------------------------------4330 Ha. 4) Water Supply a) 1500 nos. of hand pump to be provided in district. 1 b) 77976 nos. of H2H tap connection to be provide from WASMO. 5) Power Supply a) Electric connection will be provided to all identified unelectrified household. b) For giving uninterrupted power supply to villages of Tapi dist. more no. of substation proposed. 6) Roads & Building a) Widening of 129.63 km of roads from 3.75m to 5.50m. b) Converting 28 existing C.D. Works/Causeways to Box culverts/Slab Drains, as well as construction of new Minor / Major Bridges. c) Providing existing Earthern/Metal Roads of 194.40 kms. to B.T. Surface (New Non-Plan Roads). d) Construction of New Taluka Panchayat Buildings for the newly formed Talukas- Kukarmunda & Dolvan. e) Total 4 3.80 KM of four lane roads to be converted to six lane roads. f) Total 49.06 KM of 10 m wide roads to be converted to four lane roads g) Total 178.21 KM of 7 m wide roads to be converted to 10 m wide roads h) Total 60.74 KM of 5.50 m wide roads to be converted to 7.50 m wide roads i) Total 80.35 KM of 3.66 m wide roads to be converted to 5.50 m roads 7) Social Welfare a) To issue necessary equipments to all need senior citizens and divyang in dist. Tapi. b) To cover all beneficiaries of IGNOAPS, IGNDPS, IGNWPS. 8) Agriculture & Horticulture a) To double the income of farmer by 2022 through traditional organic farming and maximize horticulture crop area. b) To develop various new varieties/technology of regional rice. 9) Forest a) 100% Households of Tapi District to be associated with at least one program of Forest Department under “Kutumb Jodo Karyakaram” b) Increasing Trees outside Forests to 75 per hectare by 2022 c) Creation of 40 Growth Centers in entire Tapi District d) Increase in Eco- Tourism Sites from 1 to 4 new Sites to give a fill up to tourists e) 4 local Species of Teak, Khair, Bamboo and Drumstick to be promoted 10) Revenue a) “Land Bank” will be formed for government lands available in the district. b) Assignment of government lands for various departments in Tapi. c) All pending Varsai entries including city survey to be completed by dec, 2017 d) Implementing e-office to make prant offices 100% paperless. 2 11) Sports a) Make participation of 2500 players in school program by 2022. 1000 players at state level and 500 players for national level. b) Daily 30-45 min compulsory participation in sports for all primary school and regularly conduct competition on CRC level. 12) Banking a) To cover all farmers of Tapi district under KCC fold. b) Promote cashless transactions in all villages. c) 100% Aadhaar linking with bank accounts by Dec, 2017. 13) Urban Development a) Cover the urban area with cctv and wi-fi facility by 2017 b) House allocation to all needy under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna & IHSDP Scheme. 14) Rural Development a) Increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills including technical and vocational skills for employment & entrepreneurship through RSETI. b) Under Swatch Bharat Mission will focus on Solid-liquid waste management, Office premises cleanliness, plantation and beautification, cleanliness at public places and composed kit for ukarda. 3 .
