Crime and antisocial behaviour update

Thorne and Moorends On Tuesday 13 April two warrants were carried out in Thorne during which, several knives were seized from an address on the Willow Estate.

This warrant was part of ongoing work with partner agencies to tackle several issues, including antisocial behaviour on the Willow Estate.

This picture was taken of a very large cannabis set up at an industrial estate on Coulman Street. There were over 1700 plants with an estimated value of £1 million.

Three people were arrested and have since been charged in connection with the production of cannabis and remanded in custody.

Stainforth and Barnby Dun On 31 March we held a day of action in the area. These photographs were taken during a warrant at the Transit Centre on Hall Road. We identified parts from 15 stolen vans and all the vehicle parts in the premises were recovered. We’ve now identified a number belonging to more stolen vehicles. Officers in CID are continuing with the investigation.

Hatfield and Dunscroft As part of the day of action on 31 March, two men were arrested in connection with driving offences. They were both released on bail while the investigation continues. We recovered a stolen vehicle round the corner from one of their addresses in Dunscroft. We continue to receive complaints relating to speeding vehicles on Road on Hatfield Woodhouse, and so, on Saturday 10 April we held a speed monitoring operation. 50 vehicles were checked. No vehicles were found to be speeding

Edenthorpe and Kirk Sandall During the last month we have completed two operations in Kirk and Sandall and Edenthorpe with our partners from DMBC. The aim has been to address issues around groups of young people behaving antisocially.

We started at Glass park and Dentons Green park moving to the surrounding areas. This work resulted in several young people receiving ASB letters and we are working with local schools to consider the best way to address this ongoing problem.

Armthorpe Officers are continuing to investigate several hate crimes. This relates to a woman shouting abuse at her neighbours. She has been arrested three times and was charged with three offences before being granted bail with conditions.

Unfortunately, she breached the conditions. She appeared before Doncaster Magistrates again and is now bailed to live in another part of Doncaster pending a further court date soon.

Norton and Askern On 31 March officers arrested a woman in connection with damage that had been caused to a number of vehicles and where she was suspected of “tagging” locations. This investigation is ongoing and the woman is being provided with some appropriate support.

Officers were called to address on Moss Road after suspicious behaviour was reported. On arrival they found a cannabis set up. The investigation is continuing and we are are waiting results of a forensic examination.
