Aims and Scope: Short Film Studies is a peer-reviewed journal designed to stimulate ongoing research on individual short films as a basis for a better understanding of the art form as a whole. Vidar Dahl (b. 1967) is known for short poetic films with a strong visual expression based on his own poems. He has written and directed a number of films that have been screended at festivals worldwide, including Recognition (2011), Changing Hands (2014) and Cleaning Up (2016).

A gay couple’s lunch break does not go as planned as they engage in a discussion about how they can renovate their cabin bathroom. Suddenly, they find themselves in a heated argument leading to a series of misunder- standings.

Ida H. Eldøen (f. 1981) is a director and a producer in the company Tagline, which she co-founded. In recent years she has mainly worked as a producer and photographer, and The Half Wall is her comeback as a film director. Ida H. Eldøen is fearless and straightforward, and brings everyday situations up on the canvas. The film has been selected for several festivals in Europe and USA, and won the audience award at West Nordic International Film Festival in 2018.
