Using the data set provided, answer the following questions. Please place your answers in appropriate locations in the table below. You do not need to submit the spreadsheet itself. Save this document as<lastname_data_interp.doc>.

Review the supplied data sheet before attempting to answer the questions for this assignment. As you review, identify the strengths and weaknesses of both students and individual test items. Look at overall class performance. Identify any outliers that may exist. After reviewing the data, please answer the following questions in the spaces provided.

/ They did do well with the content mastery in all sections except the essay. The students could do the work but had a hard time explaining.

/ Team 5 works well as a group together but individually each student knowledge of the content was lacking.
  • Jacob scored the lowest on the quizzes even though his performance was good.
  • Wanda scored higher on the essay than on the multiple choice portion of the quiz. Wanda is one of two students that scored higher on the essay than on the multiple choice.

/ Mark
Received a 5 for teamwork and scored a 70% on the quiz. This indicates that he does not like to do work in a group but likes to work individually based on individual score.
Sue
Her whole team did not score well on the content area and she scored a 10 in performance. She understood the content based on the fact that she received a high essay score.

  • Student performed more poorly on the essay than on the quiz.
  • Nobody scored perfect on the essay. The teacher should review scoring procedure
  • Students that had higher scores in the team performance and content area section for the most part had higher averages for the quizzes.

  • All assessments should have different weight in grades.
  • Students should have the opportunity to work on their own.
  • Students should have the opportunity to see if they work well with their partners so that if they want to they can switch groups.
