Postion Seeking: Camp RN
Pay Range: $5,560.00 to $6,000.00, room and board and living on a beautiful lake for the summer
Head Nurse: As a camp health professional you will be responsible for oversight of the overall care of our summer camp community of about 300 plus people. Over the course of the summer, there are 250 campers who stay for 3.5 or 7 week sessions.
Your job as the Camp RN includes, but is not be limited to:
- reviewing camper and counselor health forms
- live in residence at Health House during camp session (June 17-August 18)
- screening campers/counselors on arrival and address any issues as indicated
- educating all staff/counselors in basic first aid, general health care issues, universal precautions, and to designated staff use of epi-pen
- organizing and maintaining the in-stock medications and materials
- overseeing distribution of medications to campers per doctor’s orders
- train and oversee two Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP)
- communicating with camp physician when necessary
- communicating with nurses from the other Aloha Foundation camps about stock needs, communicable disease outbreaks, etc.
- treating injuries with good first aid techniques
- admitting to infirmary and treating campers and counselors who are ill
- keeping infirmary area clean
- assuming charge of any health care emergency which affects the camp, i.e. stomach virus, lice epidemic, until a physician is notified
- carrying out physicians’ orders as given and doing summer-end inventory, requisition and maintenance requests and reports.
The RN will have 2 assistants who with the guidance of the RN provide support in the Health House

•whenappropriate, passing out medications to campers per doctor’s orders
•Helping organize med kits that go out on day and overnight trips: organizing camper andcounselormedsandhealthforms.
•treating injuries with good first aid techniques
•admitting to infirmary and treating campers and counselors who are ill
•Helping our housekeeper ensure the infirmary area clean
