Curzon PTA Raffle

As ever we are running the raffle at the Summer Fete. Tickets will be distributed via book bags next week for 50p per ticket or £2.50 per book. This year sales generated by the raffle tickets will receive matched fundraising from Barclays so please do everything you can to drum up support and sell your raffle tickets!!! Prizes from local businesses and parents so far include hamper of goodies donated by the Curzon Governors, a golden (family) ticket for the Roald Dahl Museum, Moog Beer, Rebellion Beer, family entrance to Hughendon Manor, a Belazu hamper, a Radley purse and smellies from Neal's Yard and Baylis & Harding to name but a few.

We are looking for more donations so if you work for a local business and wish to give something or have any good quality unwanted unopened gifts, please drop your donation into the box in reception clearly marked "PTA Raffle" or contact Helen Ratcliffe ([email protected]).

Volunteering on the Day From Monday 12th June until Friday 17th June you will be able to volunteer for a slot on a stall during the fete. As a small school, we really do need each and every parent to come forward to take a slot (or two) if possible. We have the following slots:

 12-1pm

 1pm-2pm

 2pm-3pm

We rely heavily on outside support so we can have a larger variety of stalls to increase funds as well as fun for the children! If you unable to make it into the playground during that week or would like to ‘bag’ a particular slot or stall then please can you email [email protected]. A list of stalls requiring volunteers is available below. Please get in touch also if you can help with setup, clear up and / or if you are first aid trained and hold a valid certificate.

Donations As ever, we really still need the following donations: - Small party bag fillers - Prizes for the raffle or silent auction - Second hand books and DVDs - Chocolate and sweets to be used as prizes - Homemade cakes can be donated on Friday 23rd June or on the morning of the fete on 24th June. Please label any cakes with nuts. - This year the local Church will be running the plant stall with all proceeds going to fix the church roof. If you have any plants you would like to donate then please bring these in on 23rd June or on the morning of the fete.

What is Bottle Mufti? On Friday 23rd June, we ask all children to bring in a bottle of something. The collection takes place in the hall before school. It doesn’t have to be alcohol but soft drinks, bath foam etc. The more bottles we get, the more money we can raise. In return, the children can wear their own clothes to school on the Friday before the fete. All bottles are then used to create a much loved bottle tombola run by the teachers.

What are fete tokens, the fete house cup and how can I win them? We have been running the fete house cup for the last 2 years with Blue House winning both years. On the day, there are a number of stalls and ways you can win a house token. These are deposited in the token collector which is located at the entrance/exit of the fete. You can gain extra tokens for: - Parking in the church car park (follow instructions within the car park on the day and show picture at the entrance). - Wearing fancy dress or house colours to the fete - Bringing a used printer cartridge - In addition, shooting a penalty at the penalty shoot out, in lucky jam jars, on the human fruit machine etc. Full details available in the fete programme.

What is the Silent Auction? This is where you can bid on your children having the chance to be Head Teacher for the day, go on a picnic with Miss Neale, afternoon tea for 2 at The Compleat Angler or get a maintenance man for half a day. We will be launching a website page so you can get your bids in before the day but please look out for the stall where bids can be placed. All bidding will close at 2.40pm with announcements of the lucky winners on the day. If you have a silent auction prize or would like to know more then please see Caroline Oden in the playground.

Fancy Dress Don’t forget to come in fancy dress on the day. The theme is Wild West . Judging will commence at 1pm on the lawn. Homemade as well as purchased costumes welcome with prizes for both categories on offer.

Car Parking Please park in the church car park on the day and earn extra tokens for your house – follow instructions left in the car park on the day. It really does help reduce congestion in the village and we need to be considerate of our neighbours who will also hopefully visit the fete. Please bring cash and lots of friends Please bring cash or cheques with you on the day and as much change as possible. Please also spread the word to family and friends…all are welcome on the day with free entry.
