A series of lines will be printed; the printer is printing all of the characters it can print. 2. At the end it will print some readable information a. Interface: RS232 (If this says Centronics the printer needs to be replaced) b. Baud Rate: 1200bps or 2400bps or 4800bps or 9600bps, c. Parity: None or Even or Odd d. Data bits: 7 or 8 e. Stop bit: 2 or 1 i. This will change automatically when the data bits are changed f. Handshaking: RTS/CTS & XON/XOFF i. This can not be changed but is never used so it can be ignored. g. Suggestion: Have the customer lift the top cover of the printer so that they can see what is printed right away, otherwise this process will waste a lot of paper. b. Turn the printer off c. Hold the FEED button and turn the printer on d. The printer will print the present BAUD rate. i. If you need to change it press SEL repeatedly until the desired baud rate is printed. ii. Press FEED to accept the printed baud rate. e. The present Parity option will be printed. press SEL to change or FEED to accept f.
