SEWER COMMISSION

DECEMBER 19, 2016

The regular meeting of the Sewer Commission was called to order at5:50 p.m. byChairman Moore on Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Conference Room of the Department of Public Works located at 63 Canal Street in Holyoke.

Motion to approve and accept the Minutes of the previous meeting (12.05.16) made by Chairman Moore, seconded by Commissioner Anderson. 3-0

OLD BUSINESS

(1) Master Plan – City Sewers/CSO Abatement Project

Nothing to report at this time.

(2) Collections of Past Due SewerCharges

Office Manager said collections have been great.

Gave 2016 Sewer Use Charge Lien for Commissioners to view. Total of 474 accounts equaling $384,458.56.

This item will remain Tabled.

(3) Suez Service Contract–Nothing to report at this time.

(4) Environmental Protection Agency

The city had a meeting with the Department of Justice, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to discuss the current Administrative Order and potential Consent Decree. They would like a time line on our Combined Sewer Overflow Projects. They feel we have dragged our feet. Mayor is preparing a letter in response to this.
