ANOTHER SPORTS DESTINATION Award

Region Named Top Sports Vacation Spot

LAKE ERIE SHORESISLANDS, OHIO, March 6, 2017 ---Lake Erie Shores & Islands was recently voted as a Top Sports Vacation Spot by social media fans ofSportsEvents magazine and was featured in the February 2017 issue. This is our second award from the publishers of SportsEvents magazine this year!

SportsEvents Media Group is the leading industry publication focused exclusively on helping sports event planners produce excellent competitions in the United States.

The Top Sports Vacation Spots contest was voted on by followers of SportsEvents on Facebook – those followers include important planners, events rights holders, and industry suppliers. This first-time contest began with a list of 30 family-friendly sports destinations. From those 30 Sports Vacation Spots, including “breezy mountain retreats, popular lake and river destinations, and oceanfront resort towns,” fans were asked to vote for their top picks. Over 2,100 votes were recorded and the seven destinations that received the most votes were awarded.

The honor was recognized in the February 2017 issue of SportsEvents magazine along with an editorial feature about combining family vacations with competitive sports and individual features on each of the seven recognized destinations.SportsEvents praised Lake Erie Shores & Islands for its lake location, ability to host various types of events, and first-class facilities for both sports and entertainment. The other destinations recognized includedDaytona Beach, FL; Panama City Beach, FL; Virginia Beach, VA; and more.
