Easter SKI TRIP 2017
Thank you for your interest in the 2017 Castle School Ski Trip. We will be going back to Courchevel and staying at the same hotel for the ninth time. Courchevel is a fantastic resort, which offers a superb ski opportunity for skiers of all abilities and the opportunity to experience skiing in the largest and one of the most popular resorts in Europe. The holiday will be organised by the Ski and Adventure group PGL, a company that the school has used for a number of years and which has a well-established reputation for successful school trips.
The trip will take place from 31March – 8 April (2017) which is during the Easter holidays.
The details are as follows:
- Departure date: Friday 31 March2017 (Afternoon to early evening – time will be confirmed at a later date)
- Return date: Saturday 8April 2017
- Bus Travel by: To be confirmed at a later date.
- Total cost: £1100.00
The above price includes:
- All travel including Coach and Ferry Transfer
- Full comprehensive insurance from Fogg Travel.
- 6 nights full board @ Les Hotel Chalets, Brides Les Bains.
- Hire of skis, boots and poles.
- Ski helmets hire.
- 5 hours per day ski instruction with the Courchevel 1850 ski school.
- 6 day Lift pass for Courchevel.
- Use of PGL representative
- Snow guarantee
The price does not include ski clothing. Arrangements can be made for the hire and/or purchase of ski clothing. The school also has very good quality kit which can be used at no extra charge for the week.
It is compulsory that all students and staff wear a ski helmet whilst on the slopes at all times and PGL will provide helmets for all party members.
The trip is limited to 42 places on a first come, first served basis. Even if the trip appears to be full, it is advisable to pay the deposit anyway in case someone else drops out so that you can be placed on a reserve

list. Deposits will not be refunded until that place has been taken by another student if you do not want to go on the trip. The school must receive the reply slip with a £200 deposit as soon as possible in order to secure a place. You can pay by cheque, cash, credit/debit card (in person or over the phone). Once numbers have been confirmed you will receive a parents’ ski pack which will include all the necessary forms and paperwork. You can collect the Parent ski pack from Student Reception or the PE office which includes all the necessary forms and paperwork.

Year 10 and 11 Students only
It’s important that all Year 10 and 11 students are aware of the school’s requirements for going on a residential trip. Students must be on track to achieve their milestone grade in all subjects, on top of coursework and revision and showing the correct effort and behaviour. I hope that this will not be a problem for any students, but with Easter being so close to final exams, students must be in the position where they are on top of school work and revision. In cases where studentsdo not meet these requirements, it could result in them not going on the ski trip.

Your child will be given a payment card by the Finance Office (after the first deposit has been paid and the trip has been confirmed) which they must bring with them whenever a payment is made by cash or cheque. You can also pay via the school’s online payment system or by credit/debit card (in person or over the phone).
