In exercise of the powers vested in him by section 3A of the Wells Law, His Excellency the Governor hereby defines for the purposes of the said section the areas set out in the Schedule hereto as areas in which no permit for the sinking or construction of a well shall be issued by the Commissioner and no variation or modification of any condition or restriction imposed on any such permit shall be effected, save with the concurrence of the Director of Water Development, in accordance with the provisions of the said section. 2. I hereby specify the following to bo a " Controlled Oilburner " for the purposes of the above Order :— DESCRIPTION. (a) The typo of Oilburner called and known as the " Utility " Oilburner. (6) Tho " Utility " Oilburner comprises an atomizing burner for all classos of oil fuel, the atomizing agent being steam or compressed air. (c) Tho " Utility " Oilburner consists of the following parts, viz : PART 1.—A thimble shaped hollow brass nozzle, threaded at one end and screwed to tho oil feed pipe ; the other end of the nozzle is tapered down in the form of a spindle extension on the end of which a fan shaped revolving impeller is mounted. The circumference of the nozzle is perforated in a number of circular orifices through which the oil is drawn. -

Yangaki Τhe Immured Vessels in Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Churches of Greece Research Programme: objectives and preliminary results from Crete Abstract The study presents the preliminary observations from the “Immured vessels in Byzantine and Post-Byzantine churches of Greece” research programme with a focus on immured vessels in churches on Crete. It refers to the areas where this practice is most widespread, to the most common patterns in which the vessels are placed on church façades, and to the different categories of glazed wares used asbacini . Particular interest is paid to the reasons why bacini are used and to the importance of their study, not only for this particular aspect of the material culture of Crete, but also for the additional information they provide about the monuments they adorn. Introduction ‒ General information on the research programme Although the practice of embedding glazed open clay vessels in patterns on the exterior walls of ‒ mostly religious ‒ buildings has been noted in various areas (for example: Berti, Tongiorgi, Tongiorgi 1983, 35), the most systematic research conducted to date has been in Italy. The pioneering composite studies conducted by G. Berti and L. Tongiorgi on vessels immured in churches in Pisa are included among the numerous relevant studies1 (Berti, Tongiorti 1981; Berti 1992, 133-172). In the territories of what is now Greece, although this form of decoration was identified very early by scholars of Byzantine architecture, with the earliest references dating from the first half of the 20th c. -
