The neighborhood’s restaurant scene is both diverse and expansive, providing great food and beverage opportunities for the quick lunch-goer and the white tablecloth businessperson. The 350,000 square foot office building was originally built in 1979 and will undergo a significant renovation to include a modern new lobby, retail streetscapes, a new penthouse and state-of-the-art amenities including a fitness center and bike room. The expanded penthouse will have incredible views, a large outdoor terrace, a cafe and indoor lounge.     STAFF RECOMMENDATION Lucy Kempf NCPC File No. 6863 MEMORIAL TO VICTIMS OF THE UKRAINIAN MANMADE FAMINE OF 1932-33 Reservation 196 New Jersey Avenue, 1st, E and F Streets, NW Washington, DC Submitted by the National Park Service September 25, 2008 Abstract The National Park Service (NPS), on behalf of the Government of Ukraine has submitted a request for site approval for the Memorial to Victims of the Ukrainian Manmade Famine of 1932-1933. The National Park Service’s preferred site, Reservation 196, occupies approximately 3800 square feet of federally owned land and is at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and 1st Street, NW between E and F Streets. Reservation 196 is identified as site #98 in The Memorials and Museums Master Plan. An alternative site, Reservation 78, is 3100 square feet of federally owned land one block west of Union Station at the intersection of North Capitol Street, Massachusetts Avenue and F Street, NW. The Memorial to Victims of the Ukrainian Manmade Famine is authorized by Public Law 109-340. The National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission (NCMAC), which advises the Department of the Interior on site selection, approved moving Reservation 196 and the alternative, Reservation 78, forward for review by NCPC and the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA). The NPS has developed an Environmental Assessment, which studies both sites as well as a no-action alternative. CFA approved the alternative site, Reservation 78, on September 18, 2008.     1200 New Hampshire Avenue Electronic Tenant® Portal Created on September 26, 2021 Amenities: Fitness Facility 1200 New Hampshire offers access for all tenant employees (no guests to include personal trainers) to the self-use Fitness Facility located at the rear of the main lobby. The Fitness Facility provides an aerobics area complete with TV/DVD, as well as an exercise room that includes a multi-station Hoist weight machine, treadmills, stair climbers and stationary bikes. Separate women’s and men’s locker rooms are provided, each containing lockers, showers and restrooms. Lockers are for temporary use only. Personal contents must be removed daily after use. All items left will be placed in lost and found. Contact the security guard regarding lost and found. Each Employee is required to sign a waiver and turn it into the management office prior to using the facility. The original form may be obtained through the management office. The Management Office will then notify Datawatch to authorize the employee’s access card for entry into facility and for women access to women’s locker room. Most are located on National Park Service lands and were established by separate acts of Congress. The authorization law is available upon request. The database can be mapped in GIS for spatial analysis. Many other works contribute to the capital's commemorative landscape.
