Washing Machine Heart” Video HERE November 9, 2018 For Immediate Release Watch Mitski’s “Washing Machine Heart” Video HERE On Tour Now In Support of Be the Cowboy “Mitski’s composure means that even the smallest ripple of expressiveness in her voice can hit like an earthquake.” - New York Times Magazine "[Be the Cowboy,] the fifth album from the singular songwriter is her greatest to date. From the music to her emotions, Mitski has the power to make the complex seem dazzlingly clear." -- Pitchfork, Best New Music "Gorgeous, orchestral ballads hold court with thumping Britpop, scabrous grunge, and synthpop; the anchor is Mitski’s lilting voice and devastating way with words." -- Vulture, Best Albums of 2018 So Far “Mitski Is The 21st Century’s Poet Laureate of Young Adulthood.” — NPR Music “A release that will almost certainly be on every critic's best-of-2018 list come December.” -- USA Today In the midst of a completely sold out North American tour in support of Be the Cowboy, Mitski shares a gorgeous video for “Washing Machine Heart,” created with previous collaborators -- director Zia Anger (“Your Best American Girl” and “Geyser”) and cinematographer Mia Cioffi Henry (“Geyser”) -- and premiered last week via TIDAL. The video takes stylistic cues from older noir films, reflecting the longingful lyrics and pleading desire of the song. Choreographed by Monica Mirabel, who also choreographed the Be the Cowboy tour, Mitski exerts a powerful confidence that aptly describes the way she captures emotion— frankly, beautifully, and willingly. Mitski continues on her entirely sold out North American tour in support of Be the Cowboy, released this past August on Dead Oceans. Her 2018 run concludes with four sold out shows at Brooklyn Steel. Watch Mitski’s “Washing Machine Heart” Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vjkh-acmTE “If you, like us, have been living in a Mitski-obsessed hole since Be The Cowboy debuted this summer, her latest visual for ‘Washing Machine Heart’ will send you spiraling all over again.” -- The FADER “The irresistibly twee ‘Washing Machine Heart,’ propelled by the percussion of clapping hands and froggy keyboards, is admirably bubblegum.” - Jezebel “She plays with meter on ‘Washing Machine Heart,’ where verse and refrain bleed into each other and the rhythm of her vocals doesn’t quite match the beat of the song. It is at once disorienting and mesmerizing, an effect enhanced by a serene tone of voice at odds with the tumult of her lyrics.” - Paste "[The 'Washing Machine Heart' video] is a haunting accompaniment to Mitski’s lilting run-on vocals, punctuated by catchy, bleepy synths in one of the stunning album’s most infectious earworms." -- Consequence of Sound Stream/Purchase Be the Cowboy – https://mitski.ffm.to/bethecowboy Watch “Nobody” Video – https://youtu.be/qooWnw5rEcI Watch “Geyser” Video – https://youtu.be/3zdFZJf-B90 Mitski Tour Dates: Thu. Hired in 2014, Schneider’s contract was subsequently renewed for two seasons. However, the school, which renews contracts on an annual basis, did not offer Schneider a con- tract for the 2017 season. Music can help people in so many ways like when you are sad you can listen to happy music, if you can't sleep you can turn on calming music that doesn't have any lyrics, or you can put on sad music if you just want to let out a cry. Music can also motivate you or inspire you to do something. Music helps me by calming me down when I'm stressed, makes me happy when I am sad or angry, or sometimes I just listen to sad music because I just feel like it. Music also helps me fall asleep faster. When I listen to music I feel like I'm in a whole different world and in that world all my worries, problems and stress goes away and I feel happy. Music is important to me because a lot of songs have really deep meanings to them. Music inspires me to make my own music or learn to play the piano or guitar.
