ANAHEIM DUCKS CONSULTANT:

" 2-12-82 6-2, 190 The Ducks are set to have one of the best “tandems” this as Hiller " 8-08-82 6-0, 198 prepares to showcase his best skills in a contract season. Fasth could see as many as 40-45 starts this season as well. Andersen and Gibson are your & 10-02-89 6-4, 245 tandem in Norfolk, which unfortunately pushed Bobkov down to the ECHL, N John Gibson 7-14-93 6-3, 205 as he was loaned to Utah on 9/30. Gibson will be one of the top rookies to ( Igor Bobkov 1-02-91 6-4, 192 watch in the AHL this season. No word if Roloson has an assistant yet.

BOSTON BRUINS COACH:

" 3-10-87 6-3, 169 gave Chad Johnson a nice run for his money in the " Chad Johnson 6-10-86 6-3, 195 preseason, but experience ultimately paid off, and Johnson secured the " Niklas Svedberg 9-04-89 6-2, 176 backup gig to Rask. I thought Tuukka looked a little uncomfortable in the one pre-season game I saw him play, but wouldn’t be concerned about a guy N 12-21-93 6-1, 187 who will likely be one of the top five fantasy goalies this season. Subban is " Adam Morrison 2-09-91 6-3, 194 up there with Gibson in terms of top AHL rookie goalies to watch this season, " Zane Gothberg 8-20-92 6-1, 180 while Morrison is the team’s #5 and Gothberg will look to play more for UND.

BUFFALO SABRES COACHES: Jim Corsi, Bob Janosz, Seamus Kotyk

" 7-17-80 6-2, 175 The Sabres added Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds goalie coach Seamus & 6-25-88 5-10, 166 Kotyk as sort of a roving goalie scout and coach. He’ll work with prospects " 3-07-90 6-2, 179 from time to time and help evaluate talent in the OHL. All eyes are *still* " 5-01-90 6-5, 215 on Ryan Miller as the trade rumors continue to swirl. Don’t be surprised if he plays extremely well as he prepares for the Olympics and proves the " Nathan Lieuwen 8-08-91 6-5, 192 pundits wrong. Enroth makes an excellent backup and is looking to sustain N Andrey Makarov 4-20-93 6-1, 193 momentum from a Gold Medal in the World Championships. Hackett is a " 7-31-93 6-3, 198 solid #3 and Knapp is battling Lieuwen for the backup job. Makarov is in the # Cal Petersen 10-19-94 6-1, 175 mix but had to return to Russia on 9/30 due to a private/family emergency.

CALGARY FLAMES COACHES: Clint Malarchuk, Jordan Sigalet

N Karri Ramo 7-01-86 6-3, 207 As expected, the Flames submitted their 23-man roster with Ramo and " Joey MacDonald 2-07-80 6-0, 197 MacDonald on the list. But I feel that Berra will find a way to earn some Reto Berra 1-03-87 6-4, 200 starts in by January or February. Jay Feaster mentioned publicly N that he was hoping to see more from MacDonald in terms of his fitness & 3-23-93 6-3, 200 and performance in training camp. That leaves Berra, Brossoit, and Ortio " Joni Ortio 4-16-91 6-1, 183 currently battling for two spots in Abbotsford. Gillies will be a major workhorse & Jon Gillies 1-22-94 6-5, 215 in Providence and have to decide whether or not to turn pro next summer.

CAROLINA HURRICANES COACH: Greg Stefan

" 2-29-84 6-1, 185 Cam Ward had a few rough outings in the pre-season, going 2-2 with a 3.01 " 5-07-86 5-11, 203 GAA and .885 SV%, but he’s no worse for wear heading into the month of Justin Peters 8-30-86 6-1, 205 October. Khudobin was 1-1 in the preseason with a .915 SV% and could be " one of the best backups in the NHL this year. Peters and Murphy will both " Mike Murphy 1-15-89 5-11, 161 earn a solid of starts in Charlotte, but it’s Justin’s job to lose after " Daniel Altshuller 7-24-94 6-2, 175 Murphy’s KHL experience was a massive letdown. He’s lucky to still be a " Collin Olson 4-04-94 6-3, 196 part of the team. Altshuller was 2-1 with a .866 SV% in his first three games.

CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS COACHES: Steve Weeks, Andrew Allen

" 12-31-84 6-2, 208 Corey Crawford went 2-0 in the preseason with a .942 SV%, stopping 49 of " Nikolai Khabibulin 1-13-73 6-1, 208 52 shots. Nikolai Khabibulin was 1-0-2 with a 2.51 GAA and .897 SV%. Antti 5-12-89 6-0, 187 Raanta was very impressive in the preseason game I saw him play, as he N won 5-4 over the Capitals in a shootout. He stopped 26 of 30 shots and was " Kent Simpson 3-26-92 6-3, 200 perfect in the shootout. He reads plays well and is adjusting to the smaller " Mac Carruth 3-25-92 6-3, 182 ice quickly. There’s a nice battle ensuing between Simpson and Carruth for " Brandon Whitney 5-11-94 6-5, 192 the backup spot in Rockford. Whitney is 2-2-0 with a .902 SV%. He has " Matt Tomkins 6-19-94 6-2, 174 averaged 36 shots against in those four games. SCOUT: Markus Korhonen

COLORADO AVALANCHE COACHES: Francois Allaire, Jean-Ian Filiatrault

& 4-27-88 6-2, 209 I nearly shed a tear when I saw Colorado’s new goalie coaching tandem & J-S Giguere 5-16-77 6-1, 202 working with the Avs prospects during training camp. It is a complete 180 8-06-92 6-1, 172 from what I witnessed when I covered the team from 2006-2012. It should & definitely go a long way in improving the technical base and long-term upside & 4-15-92 6-1, 208 of every goalie in the system. It’s unfortunate that Patterson and Millan will & Kent Patterson 9-15-89 6-1, 195 once again get stuck in the . Martin is already playing & Kieran Millan 8-31-89 6-0, 190 games that matter in the OHL, as he was 3-1-0 with a with a .896 SV% on " Spencer Martin 6-08-95 6-2, 198 10/1. I personally view Aittokallio as the new #3 within Colorado’s system.

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS COACHES: Ian Clark,

" Sergei Bobrovsky 9-20-88 6-2, 190 The Blue Jackets got a bit of a scare when McElhinney went down with a " Curtis McElhinney 5-23-83 6-2, 197 minor injury in the pre-season, but he announced on 10/1 that he would be Mike McKenna 4-11-83 6-3, 195 fine for their season opener. Bobrovsky went 1-2-1 in the preseason but " posted a solid .925 SV% and 2.14 GAA, so he should have no problem " Jeremy Smith 4-13-89 6-0, 180 continuing where he left off last season. McKenna and Smith make a solid " Anton Forsberg 11-27-92 6-2, 176 AHL tandem, as both former Predators prospects look to make their mark as & 2-28-94 6-2, 187 the team’s #3 goalie. Dansk is off to a much better start in Erie this season, " Joonas Korpisalo 4-28-94 6-2, 168 going 2-1-1 in his first four games with a 2.51 GAA and .924 SV%. I’m " Martin Ouellette 12-30-91 6-1, 160 expecting Ouellette to be a real bright star for Maine this season as well.

DALLAS STARS COACH: Mike Valley

" 11-16-83 6-4, 200 There’s plenty to be excited about in Dallas. New ownership, a new GM, " 6-19-80 6-1, 191 and one of the most under-appreciated goalies in the league are ready to " Cristopher Nilstorp 2-16-84 6-3, 192 put this team back in the ...and without relying on a win in Game 82. Lehtonen went 2-0-1 with a 1.97 GAA and .931 SV% in the pre-season, while " Jack Campbell 1-09-92 6-1, 171 Dan Ellis responded with a and a .955 SV% in his three pre-season " Maxime Lagace 1-12-93 6-1, 176 games. Nilstorp successfully cleared , which gives the " Henri Kiviaho 2-26-94 6-3, 183 an excellent tandem with he and Jack Campbell. Don’t forget, the Stars also " Philippe Desrosiers 8-16-95 6-1, 182 have an excellent #5 in Josh Robinson, but he’s not on an NHL deal.

DETROIT RED WINGS COACHES: Jim Bedard,

" 3-26-84 6-0, 218 There’s not much, if any, correlation between the pre-season and regular h Jonas Gustavsson 10-24-84 6-3, 192 season, so don’t be concerned by Howard’s .882 SV% in the four games he played leading up to 10/1. Gustavsson is currently on the IR with *another* N Petr Mrazek 2-14-92 6-1, 187 groin injury, which gives Petr Mrazek a chance to earn some playing time in " Jared Coreau 4-15-90 6-4, 204 the NHL. He’s clearly entrenched as Detroit’s #3 goalie, but Jared Coreau " Jake Paterson 5-03-94 6-2, 183 is an AHL rookie to watch. Paterson signed an entry-level contract on 9/28.

EDMONTON OILERS COACHES: Frederic Chabot, Sylvain Rodrigue

" 5-04-86 6-5, 210 Dubnyk was 2-1 in the preseason with a .938 SV%. That stat is close to the " Jason LaBarbera 1-18-80 6-3, 230 number he might need to reach if the Oilers want to make the playoffs. I’m " Richard Bachman 7-25-87 5-11, 175 interested to see if he can repeat his excellent .907 SV% from last season, which was third-best in the NHL for goalies facing 100+ shots. LaBarbera " 7-12-91 6-0, 165 struggled in his first preseason game but bounced back after that and R 3-16-88 6-7, 200 finished with a .917 SV%. His starts must be quality ones if the Oilers want " Tyler Bunz 2-11-92 6-1, 196 to firm up a playoff spot. Bachman and Roy make a decent smaller AHL " Frans Tuohimaa 8-19-91 6-2, 179 tandem, and keep an eye on Ty Rimmer, who signed an AHL deal.

FLORIDA PANTHERS COACHES: Robb Tallas, Steve Shields

N 4-15-74 5-11, 195 Florida struck gold when Tim Thomas joined the team for training camp on " Jacob Markstrom 1-31-90 6-6, 195 a PTO. Robb Tallas told me he was quite pleased with the way Thomas Scott Clemmensen 7-23-77 6-2, 201 competed in training camp, which helped him earn an incentive-laden one- h year contract. Now they have a solid one-two punch with Markstrom, who " Michael Houser 9-13-92 6-2, 192 stands to gain great wisdom from Thomas’ experience. Clemmensen was " Sergei Gayduchenko 6-06-89 6-5, 227 injured at the most inopportune time, so he could be waived when he’s " Sam Brittain 5-10-92 6-3, 215 healthy. Houser will play in San Antonio with Dov-Grumet Morris. Brittain " Evan Cowley 7-31-95 6-4, 182 and Cowley are the senior-freshman tandem at the University of Denver.

LOS ANGELES KINGS COACHES: , Kim Dillabaugh

" 1-21-86 6-1, 214 Jonathan Quick looked to be in mid-season form during the preseason, going " 9-11-86 6-2, 192 3-0 with a .968 SV%, so he could be your #1 goalie in fantasy drafts. When Martin Jones 1-10-90 6-4, 185 Scrivens isn’t getting into flaming wars on Twitter with fans, he’s likely to be " sitting on the bench. I was almost led to believe that was " J-F Berube 7-13-91 6-1, 170 going to sneak in with a two-way deal after his PTO, but he was released on " Patrik Bartosak 3-29-93 6-0, 181 9/30. Jones signed a new two-year deal and Bartosak is back in Red Deer.

MINNESOTA WILD COACH: Bob Mason

" Niklas Backstrom 2-13-78 5-11, 189 Niklas Backstrom posted a .907 SV% in three preseason games, while Josh " 6-18-84 6-1, 197 Harding only allowed two goals in the 145 minutes of playing time he earned. " 5-05-90 6-4, 212 He needed a maintenance day for the final preseason game, but that is to be expected this season. Kuemper will be a fairly valuable #3 goalie due to the N Johan Gustafsson 2-28-92 6-2, 203 uncertainty surrounding Harding’s health. Gustafsson is ready to begin his " Alexandre Belanger 8-19-95 6-0, 170 pro career in North America and could be one of the top rookies in the AHL. " Steve Michalek 8-06-93 6-2, 183 Belanger is back in the QMJHL and Michalek is now back with Harvard.

MONTREAL CANADIENS COACHES: Stephane Waite, V. Riendeau, M. Marciano

" 8-16-87 6-3, 219 Despite a stick-swinging meltdown in practice a few days ago, Price should " Peter Budaj 9-18-82 6-1, 200 have no problem shouldering the load for the Habs this season. Look for him " Dustin Tokarski 9-16-89 6-0, 194 to be a solid top-10 fantasy asset, while Budaj will again be one of the best backups in a limited support role. The consistency continues with Tokarski " Robert Mayer 10-09-89 6-1, 199 and Mayer in Hamilton, where they will work with new video/goalie coach " Peter Delmas 2-16-90 6-2, 190 Marco Marciano. Delmas was assigned to the Solar Bears of the ECHL " Mike Condon 4-27-90 6-2, 195 as he enters the final year of his deal with the Habs, while Condon was " Zach Fucale 5-28-95 6-1, 185 assigned to the . Fucale is off to a 3-2-0 start in Halifax.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS COACHES: Mitch Korn, Ben Vanderklok

" 11-03-82 6-5, 207 The best news for the Preds may be that Pekka Rinne was 100% healthy in " 12-19-85 6-1, 210 time to play three games and stop 51 shots in the preseason. Carter Hutton 4-04-91 6-5, 196 was not as solid or as polished as he would have liked, but he is progressing " and he has the faith of the organization...for now. Hellberg will look to carry N 7-18-91 6-2, 185 the load in Milwaukee, while Marek Mazanec is quickly becoming known as " Atte Engren 2-19-88 6-1, 185 a very underrated and exciting young prospect. Engren is playing in the KHL " Juuse Saros 4-19-95 5-10, 161 this year and struggled in his first game for HC Lev Praha. Saros is already " Janne Juvonen 10-03-94 6-0, 178 off to a hot start with HPK, posting a .933 SV% in his first three games.

NEW JERSEY DEVILS COACHES: Chris Terreri, Jacques Caron

" 5-06-72 6-2, 220 If it wouldn’t screw up formatting, I’d just put Brodeur and Schneider side- " 3-18-86 6-2, 195 by-side. I guess I have to give the living legend the benefit of the doubt, but Keith Kinkaid 7-04-89 6-3, 190 I still think Schneider ends up playing more, playing better, and putting the " team in the playoffs. Kinkaid and Wedgewood will be your tandem in Albany, " Scott Wedgewood 8-14-92 6-1, 192 with Clermont being stuck in the ECHL for another season. Anthony Brodeur " Maxime Clermont 12-31-91 6-1, 193 is playing in Gatineau and is 2-1-0 with a .860 SV%, stopping 49 of 57 shots. " Anthony Brodeur 6-08-95 5-11, 177 That’s an average of only 19 shots per game.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS COACHES: , Steve Valiquette

" 7-25-75 6-0, 202 I’m really curious to see how Kevin Poulin handles the role behind Nabokov, " Kevin Poulin 4-12-90 6-2, 210 who is one year older. Poulin will need to bring a high percentage of quality " Anders Nilsson 3-19-90 6-5, 220 starts to the table, because the Islanders are not going to waltz into the playoffs. If they’re a bubble team, his handful of starts must be solid. Poulin’s " Mikko Koskinen 7-18-88 6-7, 192 promotion allows Nilsson to carry the workload in Bridgeport, and he’s " Cody Rosen 9-27-90 5-11, 180 backed up by Kenny Reiter (AHL deal). Koskinen was with the Blues in the " Eamon McAdam 9-24-94 6-2, 185 SM- but was released and then signed by Sibir Novosibirsk in the KHL. " Stephon Williams 4-28-93 6-2, 191 The Islanders continue to retain his rights during his tenure in Europe.

NEW YORK RANGERS COACH: Benoit Allaire

" 3-02-82 6-1, 188 Henrik Lundqvist lost all four games in the preseason and had just a .859 " 8-15-77 6-2, 186 SV%, but the final period in the final warmup against the Canucks was key Cameron Talbot 7-05-87 6-3, 200 for getting him back on track heading into the regular season. Biron took a " short personal leave in the preseason but was fine by 10/1. Talbot had a " Jason Missiaen 4-25-90 6-8, 220 decent 56 minutes worth of preseason action and will lead the Wolfpack. " Scott Stajcer 6-14-91 6-2, 195 Expect Stajcer to float and roam and possibly play musical chairs with " Mackenzie Skapski 6-15-94 6-2, 186 Missiaen. Skapski was 1-2 with a .895 SV% in his first three WHL games.

OTTAWA SENATORS COACH:

" Craig Anderson 5-21-81 6-2, 180 Anderson was 0-2 in the preseason with a .862 SV% but will have no problem " 7-24-91 6-3, 220 being a workhorse for the Sens. Lehner was 2-1 in three games with a .905 Nathan Lawson 9-29-83 6-2, 196 SV% and will be one of the most sought-after backups in fantasy leagues. " Lawson and Hammond will be a solid tandem in Binghamton. Hammond " Andrew Hammond 2-11-88 6-3, 190 was 1-2 in three games with a .925 SV%. Driedger gave up seven goals on " Chris Driedger 5-18-94 6-2, 190 39 shots in his first two games with Calgary (WHL) this season. Brassard " Francois Brassard 1-31-94 6-1, 160 was 1-2-1 in his first five games with just a .844 SV%, giving up 24 goals " Marcus Hogberg 11-25-94 6-4, 194 on 154 shots. Hogberg is now playing with Mora in the Allsvenskan on loan.

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS COACH: SCOUT: Neil Little

" 9-28-82 6-2, 196 I wasn’t a fan of the Emery-Mason tandem when it came together over the " 5-29-88 6-4, 217 summer, and after the preseason, I’m even more scared. Emery was 0-2-1 with a 3.30 GAA and .873 SV%, while Mason was 0-2-0 with a 3.67 GAA and " 6-21-81 6-0, 187 .859 SV%. Three goals against per game could be the norm, but I do think " Cal Heeter 11-02-88 6-4, 175 Emery can battle his way to being the workhorse starter. Danis is a solid #3 " Jakub Kovar 7-19-88 6-0, 201 but I’m not sold on Heeter being a top-half AHL goalie just yet. Stolarz was " 1-20-94 6-6, 220 already 2-0 in his first two games for London, stopping 66 of 69 shots on the " Merrick Madsen 8-22-95 6-4, 177 powerhouse Knights team. Madsen is now in the USHL with Des Moines.

PHOENIX COYOTES COACHES: , Mike Minard

" Mike Smith 3-22-82 6-4, 215 Smith went 2-0-1 in the preseason with a .905 SV% and 2.51 GAA. Greiss is " 1-29-86 6-1, 210 getting acclimated to playing a slightly different style with goalie coach Sean 8-07-92 6-2, 205 Burke, as he went 2-1 with a .907 SV% in three preseason games. I like " both as a tandem and I’m looking forward to seeing Greiss develop under " Mike Lee 10-05-90 6-1, 190 Burke’s watchful eye. Visentin has a spot in Portland locked down, but the " Louis Domingue 3-06-92 6-3, 180 other spot is up for grabs between Lee and Domingue. Marek Langhamer is " Marek Langhamer 7-22-94 6-1, 181 1-1 in three games with a .918 SV% for , while Brendan Burke " Brendan Burke 3-11-95 6-3, 176 is 2-1-1 with a .894 SV% in his first four games for the Winterhawks.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS COACH: Mike Bales, Mike Buckley

" Marc-Andre Fleury 11-28-84 6-2, 180 Fleury did not look comfortable at all in the preseason, as he went 1-1 with a h Tomas Vokoun 7-02-76 6-1, 210 .865 SV%. The lack of stability is more of an issue now that Tomas Vokoun’s " Jeff Zatkoff 6-09-87 6-3, 170 career has been threatened due to a blood clot issue that suddenly arose " Eric Hartzell 5-28-89 6-4, 188 near the end of the preseason. If he doesn’t return, the onus falls on Jeff Zatkoff to establish himself as a full-time NHL goalie. I don’t think he’s there " Alex Pechurski 6-05-90 6-0, 187 yet, but all that matters now is that he competes. The Pens brought in a few " Matthew Murray 5-25-94 6-3, 159 goalies on PTO, including Jeff Deslauriers and Andy Chiodo. Hartzell has a " 4-29-95 6-2, 181 spot locked down in WBS. Jarry is 2-2-0 with a .856 SV% for the Oil Kings, " Sean Maguire 2-02-93 6-2, 201 so his start has been rusty to say the least. Murray is 2-0-1 with a .922 SV%.

SAN JOSE SHARKS COACHES: Wayne Thomas,

" Antti Niemi 8-29-83 6-2, 210 Niemi was like so many other starting goalies in the preseason -- rusty. He " Alex Stalock 7-28-87 6-0, 180 was 2-0-1 with just a .892 SV%. Stalock nailed down the backup job by going 1-1 with a .905 SV% in the preseason. The Stalock graduation will " Harri Sateri 12-29-89 6-1, 190 allow Sateri to take over the #3 spot in the organization, which is a perfect " J.P. Anderson 4-27-92 6-0, 195 step for his career. His backup job is up for grabs between Anderson and " 8-27-89 6-1, 190 Grosenick, two smaller goalies coming from different realms. Bergvik is off " Fredrik Bergvik 2-14-95 6-1, 189 and running for Frolunda (J20), posting a .927 SV% in his first six games.

ST. LOUIS BLUES COACHES: Corey Hirsch,

" Jaroslav Halak 5-13-85 5-11, 182 Halak was 1-1 with a .891 SV% in the preseason and is expected to lift " 4-09-85 6-3, 204 the Blues to new heights this season. Elliott makes a great #2 and if Halak 8-07-90 6-2, 200 falters, Hitchcock will have no problem flipping the two. Allen is their ace " in the hole, and will show Jordan Binnington the ropes with the Chicago " Jordan Binnington 7-11-93 6-2, 169 Wolves. Lundstrom was loaned from AIK to Sodertalje of the Allsvenskan " Niklas Lundstrom 1-10-93 6-2, 179 and has posted a 1.80 GAA and .935 SV% in his first six games. Tremblay " Francois Tremblay 8-29-94 6-2, 200 was 3-2 in their first five games with a 2.62 GAA and .886 SV% for Val-d’Or.

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING COACHES: Frantz Jean, David Alexander

" 11-21-86 6-7, 214 Ben Bishop was 2-0 in the preseason with a 2.61 GAA and .903 SV%, which " Anders Lindback 5-03-88 6-6, 210 was fairly solid all things considered. Lindback was 1-2-0 with a .884 SV% " Cedrick Desjardins 9-30-85 6-0, 192 and the two are under a considerable amount of pressure to push this team back into the playoffs. Desjardins will try to keep his NHL future alive by " Riku Helenius 3-03-88 6-2, 201 staying healthy and giving himself a chance to earn a few more looks with N Kristers Gudlevskis 7-31-92 6-3, 189 the Lightning. Helenius is a lock for the #4 spot but I suggest you put Kristers " Jaroslav Janus 9-21-89 6-0, 192 Gudlevskis on your radar...he can play, and he’s only in the ECHL due to " Adam Wilcox 11-26-92 6-2, 172 money and contract situations.
