(Freshmarn Goaltender; Commerce, Mich.) UMass Lowell 2 vs. Providence 1 Hellebuyck stopped 59 of 60 shots (.983 save%) in two games vs. Wisconsin and New Hampshire and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Northeast Regional. He Boston University 6 vs. Boston College 3 backstopped UMass Lowell to a 6-1 victory over Wisconsin (28 saves) and a 2-0 triumph over New Hampshire. He earned his sixth shutout of the season with 31 stops Saturday vs. the Wildcats, matching Saturday, March 23 the school record for shutouts in a season and he also moved in the national lead for shutouts tying Niagara’s Carsen Chubak. 29th annual Hockey East Championship Game (at TD Garden, Boston, Mass.) NCAA Northeast Regional Semifinals Chapie scored two goals and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the NCAA Northeast (at Verizon Wireless Arena, Manchester, N.H.) Regional. Scored an empty net goal in the 6-1 win over Wisconsin and followed with UMass UMass Lowell 6 vs. Wisconsin 1 Lowell’s second goal in Saturday night’s 2-0 triumph over New Hampshire. Saturday, March 30 HOCKEY EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NCAA Northeast Regional Final UMass Lowell 2 vs. New Hampshire 0 #3 CHAD RUHWEDEL, UMASS LOWELL (Junior Defenseman; San Diego, Calif.) Ruhwedel was named to the NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team after helping NCAA East Regional Semifinals lead UMass Lowell to a pair of victories over Wisconsin (6-1) and New Hampshire (2-0). He assisted on Scott Wilson’s goal to give UMass Lowell a 1-0 lead and helped the River Hawks Union 5 vs. Boston College 1 to their sixth shutout of the season on Saturday vs. UNH.
