WAKE THE WORLD Making Waves By Mateo Vitela, NP ‘20 ake the World was a great experience. Although the ride W was a bit long it was really worth it! When we got there, we went to hang out on the beach briey while everyone changed to their swimwear. Shortly thereafter, we boarded wave boats to ride on the water. We went “tubing” which was amazing. We got onto an inner tube and we were pulled over the waves by the boat. When that activity was nished, we had lunch. e lunch was nice, we had sandwiches with a variety of chips. Afterwards we were given a choice, to either go back to the boats and water-board or we could go to a serene and natural lazy river. I chose the latter. Once the smaller group arrived at the lazy river, we all were able to relax and take in the beauty around us. We even had the opportunity to explore the area. We discovered lily pads o a nearby peninsula, lofty reeds, and water grass—which interestingly enough is called hydrilla. Once everyone decided it was time to leave, we used the jet-skis to get back to one of the boats. Most of the people that went to the lazy river had to return on the parent boat, and that was a bummer, but only a little. Once we returned to shore, we went water-skiing and had the opportunity to swim. We ended our day around four o’clock in the afternoon with gratitude. It was such a great time and I am sure that students will continue to love it for years to come!

Thomas, NP ’20 y experience at DeSales University was the best experi- Mence of my life. e idea of school in the summer was kind of scary at rst but, after getting there and realizing it wasn’t really summer school, I had a great time. Being with my brothers and teachers made it 10X better! e day started o at the dining hall where I had some of the best breakfasts of my life. After that we had 3 classes that weren’t that long. We had lunch, recess and a study hall, and then it was basically fun group activities the rest of the day. For example: golf, bowling, laser tag, basketball, football, water balloon ghts, swimming, etc. It created a bond between us Nativity kids because we were in dorms together. It brought us closer and really made us become more of a brotherhood. at’s why my experience at DeSales was the best experience of my life.

Where Leaders Grow By Jason Truitt, NP ’20 y summer program was one of the best experiences of Mmy life. If I could go back, I would. It was a way to get to know my classmates on a dierent level. You become closer than friends, more like brothers. You have to learn to share a room, your snacks, and share your time to help each other out. It’s also a place to show your House spirit, your athleticism, your goofy side, and a place to unwind and have fun but be about your work. Most of all it is a place where you can grow as a leader.
