Bertrand Traoré gave the visitors a 27th-minute lead and, though Andrej Kramarić turned the match on its head with goals either side of half-time, second-half strikes from Tanguy Ndombele (59) and Memphis Depay (67) looked to have given Lyon a second successive away win. Instead Hoffenheim substitute Joelinton rescued a point in added time, keeping the German side in touch with the top two. • Lyon therefore have five points, one behind leaders Manchester City but three ahead of both Hoffenheim and Shakhtar Donetsk. Hoffenheim will be unable to finish in the top two if they lose in Lyon and City win at home to Shakhtar in the other matchday four contest. Form guide Lyon • Les Gones kicked off their 2018/19 UEFA Champions League campaign with a memorable 2-1 victory at Manchester City, and recovered from 0-2 down at home to Shakhtar on matchday two to salvage a point.

Following last week’s update on Twickenham Riverside the “Twickenham Lido” petition, advocating sport and leisure on the disputed site became very active with an additional eighty people signing and making comments. These are individual residents - now 4,243 supporters of “Twickenham lido”, who the Council do not seem to hear. However, a question asked is will the Council give in to public opinion or will minority groups in a small area of Twickenham win the day? The Council consultation at the moment consists of a “Stakeholders Group”. Those of us interested in Twickenham Riverside are all stakeholders but a number of the groups invited to consult with the Council seem to be connected with Eel Pie Island - a car-free island, where people appear to want to keep vehicles on the Embankment rather than looking at alternative parking.

Council leads the Capital in support for troubled families Work by Achieving for Children’s social workers, on behalf of Richmond Council, to support troubled families in the borough has been praised highly by the Government. Phase two of the Troubled Families programme was launched in 2015. The aim of the programme is for Councils and local partner organisations to work together with local families who have multiple problems including crime, anti-social behaviour, truancy, unemployment, mental health problems and domestic abuse. The aim is to support families using local interventions and help ‘turn their lives around’. This could include getting children back into school, reducing youth crime and anti-social behaviour, putting adults on a path back into work and reducing the high costs these families place on the public purse. The Government has identified 650 families in Richmond that need specific support over a five-year period.
