BOYS GOLF: KIEL TIES FOR 48TH AT STATE; BULL DOGS PLACE FOURTH IN REGIONAL

olumbus North junior Henry Kiel posted a final-round 84 on June 13 for Ca two-round total of 161 and a tie for 48th place individually in the IHSAA boys golf State Finals. Kiel shot a 77 in the first round of the two-day event at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel. He was CN’s only athlete in the state meet after the Bull Dogs placed fourth at the Providence Regional at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville. Kiel posted a season-best 73 in the regional to earn his individual ticket to the finals. His score led the team to a 315 total in the regional. Junior Drew Smith added a 76, while junior Reese Moore carded an 81. Junior Jackson Kerber shot an 85 and junior Cameron Ziegler had an 87 to complete the CN lineup in the regional.Smith shot a 73 and Kiel tallied a 74 as the Bull Dogs claimed the championship of the Greensburg Sectional with a 309 at Greensburg Country Club.
