Rule Change to Tiebreaker Rounds- Rule 1, Section 6, Article 4b, 4c, c2, c3: Ending Pool Play

Art. 4. If more than two teams have equal records in any pool or tourna- ment, a tiebreaker series round shall be held with rematches be- tween those teams in the order of the initial tournament schedule. Only one moderator will be assigned for all tiebreaker matches. a. Each tied team must play the others again who have equal records. b. Only special tiebreaker toss-up questions will be used. c. Each match will consist of 5 toss-up questions from 5 academic cate- gories (all questions must be read). If there is a , after the 5 toss- up questions during a tiebreaker match, a toss-up question will be asked to determine a winner. c2. In case of a tie, after the initial tiebreaker procedure between all three teams (equal number of wins and losses), repeat the tie breaker round again between all three teams. c3. If after the tie breaker round, two of the three teams have an equal number of wins and losses, those two teams will play a one question (sudden-death) toss-up match to determine the winner.

NEW: Transfer Rule IESA BY-Law 2.062

A student who transfers from one school to another school shall be eligible to participate under the following guidelines:

a. The student would be eligible to participate in a at their new school during the current school year if during the IESA designated season for a sport, the student had NOT participated in a tryout, organized practice, or con test in that sport at their previous school. See By-Law 2.072 regarding student status as a member of a team.

b. A student who transfers from one school to another and is eligible in accordance with section (a) above shall become eligible to participate in contests for the new school on his/ her eleventh day of attendance at the new school in any sport or activity and provided all other eligibility require- ments are met.
