Chairman Ida Reynolds Watson Vice Chair Rodney F. Ganey, Ph.D. Susan Ohmer, Ph.D. Dear WNIT Supporters:

President and This is the most difficult letter of the year for me to write. It’s the end of summer. While we have a General Manager Greg Giczi glorious autumn to anticipate, I love summer and enjoy our beautiful Michigan and Indiana lakes. Treasurer But, there’s a bright side (beyond football season) to the change of seasons … WNIT’s great new Thomas E. Slager programming for the Fall. Secretary Cari Shein I’ll start by touting two new local productions which both premiere on Monday, September 21. Directors The first is another in the series of special programs WNIT has produced for the year-long David L. Bankoff, MD SB150 celebration – South Bend’s 150th anniversary as a city. In this program we highlight the Thomas G. Coley, Ph.D. entity which we believe has had the most positive influence on South Bend’s past and present. Marvin Curtis Katy Demarais That’s the Congregation of Holy Cross! Those sisters, brothers and priests who came to the Robert G. Sacred Mission - Civic Duty: The Holy Cross Family premieres Tracy D. Graham Monday, September 21 at 8:30pm. Albert L. Gutierrez James Hillman In September, we also celebrate a very “cool” community as we highlight the Kosciusko County Mary Horan Katherine Humphreys lake-country town of North Webster, IN. Region loses great leader with the passing of Bob Bartels

The area lost a great leader and philanthropist recently with the passing of Robert E. Bartels Sr. Bob helped guide Martin’s Super Markets from a single location to a company that currently operates CONGRATULATIONS, TUCKER! 21 stores in Indiana and Michigan, employing around 3,400 people in the region. Bob was well-known for his innovation in business and Our WNIT Kid’s Day in the Park Photo Contest Winner his good heart in the community. He exemplified the servant leader example by giving of his time, talent and treasure to numerous causes. He will be greatly missed by our community, which is far better off for his time here. WNIT extends our condolences to Bob’s family, friends and the entire Martin’s team.
