Being in school and working at a job is hard. It is like having two jobs at one time. It takes a lot of time management to be able to get done what I need to get done," Gilmer said. "I do my homework in between the breaks before I have at work. have I both day and night classes to accommodate my job so it's hard to get my work done thoroughly and it takes too much time out of my schedule to do it," Gilmer added. Some students chose work-study programs to help make ends meet and pay off their tuition because they feel work-study jobs are less demanding than off-campus jobs. Academics suffer when one does not apply the rules of time management. "When I first came to N.C. A&T, I did not have a jobso I had more time to study and get my work done. Now that I have a jobit is a lot harder to find time to study and to get all my work done," said A&T student Jay Smitherman. "I think it would be better if I did not have to work. I would have more time to study and to complete my work as I did in my freshmen year," Smitherman said.
