College League (Kindergarten through third-grade) The College League (grades K-3) played two days this week. On Tuesday, Jan. 8, the first game was between the Idyllwild Rotary Bears and the Wooley’s Wildcats. The Bears got off to a good start as Katelyn Sonnier played great defense and scored a basket for her team. The Wildcats turned on their offense in the second half. Odin Johnston scored a big basket to extend their lead. The Wildcats went on to win the game 20-12. The second game was between the Blue Bird Inn Jayhawks and the Pacific Slope Tree Co. Bulldogs. The Bulldogs controlled the low-scoring game for the first three quarters. The Bulldogs’ Jessa Smith played tough defense holding the Jayhawks scoreless. The Bulldogs entered the final quarter ahead 8-0. The Jayhawks didn’t give up and got baskets from Luke Carlson and Manuel Guzman that opened the flood gates.
