Heading into April • After posting an 11-8 mark during the month of March, the Flames will begin their April schedule, this Friday. • Liberty will play 17 games during the month of April. The Flames are scheduled to play six games at Liberty Baseball Stadium and 11 contests on the road. • 12 of the contests will be Big South Conference games. Liberty will have three-game conference series at Winthrop, this weekend, Campbell (April 15-17) and Presbyterian (April 22-24, while hosting Charleston Southern, next weekend. Last year, the Flames posted a 12-7 mark during the month, including a 10-2 record in conference play. • During Head Coach Jim Toman's previous eight seasons, Liberty has gone 85-60 (.586) during April.

Artis Sets the Table • Freshman outfi elder D.J. Artis has had quite a start to collegiate career. The Greensboro, N.C. has been quite a catalyst for the Flames' lineup, as its leadoff hitter. • Artis enters the weekend, leading the Big South Conference and 15th in NCAA Division I with a .531 on base percentage. The outfi elder leads the Flames, is third in the conference and is 60th nationally with a .398 batting average. He is second in the Big South and ranks seventh nationally in walks with 26. • The outfi elder has scored 25 runs and driven in 15 runs. He leads the Liberty and is tied for fourth in the Big South with nine steals. • Artis also leads the Flames with 14 multi-hit games, including three with three or more hits. He begins the weekend having reached base in 21 consecutive contests.

Cole Named Big South Pitcher of the Week • Senior left-hander Victor Cole was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week for games played March 14-20. • Cole went the distance for the fi rst time this season in a 4-2 win over Kent State in game one of a doubleheader, on March 19. The Memphis, Tenn., native was in control for most of the contest, allowing two runs on four hits, pitching a complete game for the second time in his career. • Cole, who evened his record at 1-1 at the time, struck out a career-high 11 batters and walked two in the con- test. • He retired the last 13 of 14 and the last seven Golden Flashes to face him to fi nished the game. • It is the fi rst time this season and the third time in Cole's Liberty career that he has been named the Big South Pitcher of the Week.

Britt Starts 200 Straight • Flames shortstop Dalton Britt started his 200th straight contest, this past Saturday. • The Greenville, N.C., native made the milestone start in the fi rst game of Saturday's doubleheader against Kent State. • Britt has started every game since joining the Flames in 2013, playing mostly at shortstop. In 2014, he played several games at third base early in the season, before moving back to shortstop. • He is on pace to break Trey Wimmer's record of 235 games played from 2009-14. • He enters the weekend with a .253 batting average, seven runs scored and 20 RBI.
