Bill Muse, a native of Glen Rock, N .J ., is in his third season on the Eagle staff. Muse, who graduated from Mississippi with a bachelor's ..,,, degree in 1979 and earned a master's degree from South Alabama in 1981, has a wealth of college coaching experience. He was associate head coach at Georgia State for two years. He spent four years at South Alabama as an assistant coach and helped lead the Jaguars to a 76-40 record, a Sun Belt Conferen ce championship, an NIT bid, and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. Muse was also head coach and general manager of th e Georgia Peaches in the N.W.B.A. He has published numerous articles, including "Jump Ball Situations" and "Importance of Free Throw Rebounding" in Athletic Journal and "Press Offense Formations" in Scholastic Coach. Muse has owned his own New Jersey based basketball camp, the USA Traveling Basketball Camp, for eight years.

Tommy Johnson Assistant Coach Tommy Johnson, a 38 year old native of Florence, S. C., is in his first season with the Eagles. Johnson comes to MSU after serving 10 years as head basketball coach at West .____ \ --- Florence (S.C.) High School where his teams won three region titles, three region tournament titles and a state championship. In 1986, he was named South Carolina High School Coach of the Year. At West Florence, he coached current MSU Eagles Donnie Matthews and David Derozier. Prior to becoming head coach at West Florence, he spent six years at Wilson High School in Florence. Johnson attended McClenaghan High School in Florence. He earned a bachelor's degree from Francis Marion College in 1973 and a master's degree from Webster University in 1984. Johnson is married to the former Judy Pl ask of Pottstown, Pa. They have one son, Lee, who is three years old. 8 Eagle Basketball '89-90 Stuart Ryan Graduate Assistant Stuart Ryan is in his second season on the Eagle staff after serving as both a student coach and as a player at Coastal Carolina. He is a native of St. Mary's, Maryland, where he was a standout player in basketball, soccer and tennis. He played tennis and basketball for two seasons at Louisburg Junior College in Louisburg, N.C. Following his stay at Louisburg, he enlisted and served four years in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he played for the All-Navy Regional Basketball team. In 1986-87, he was a student coach at Coastal Carolina, then was a member of the Chanticleers squad last season.
