Description This document provides greater detail on the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Statistical Areal Level 2 boundaries within each ISA Region. The localities listed in this document are the ‘gazetted locality boundaries’ supplied by the state or territory government and may differ from commonly used locality and/or suburb names. This document does not provide a definitive list of every suburb included within each ISA Region as this information is not available. In making this Public Suggestion, the Canberra Liberals acknowledge the requirements of the Electoral Act 1918 in relation to the making of redistributions, namely that: the Redistribution Committee is required by the Act to: 1. Ensure the number of electors in each proposed electoral division must not deviate by more than 10 per cent above or below the current enrolment quota. The current enrolment quota for the Australian Capital Territory was determined by the Electoral Commissioner to be 119,503. 2. As far as practicable, the Redistribution Committee will ensure that the number of electors enrolled in each electoral division at 20 January 2022 (the projection time) will not deviate by more than 3.5 per cent above or below the projected enrolment quota of 122,731. 3. Give due consideration, in relation to each proposed Electoral Division, to: (i) community of interests within the proposed Electoral Division, including economic, social and regional interests; (ii) means of communication and travel within the proposed Electoral Division; (iv) the physical features and area of the proposed Electoral Division; and (v) the boundaries of existing Divisions in the State or Territory 4.

It is pretty wonderful to be part of a community that has taken the lead nationally to recognise the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and culture. This year’s theme for National Reconciliation Week is Don’t Keep History a Mystery. This week classes will be inquiring into a variety of elements related to this theme in their classes with Wynetta and creating a shared artwork. I encourage you to talk to your children about Reconciliation Day, and how it commemorates the 1967 Referendum where 90% of Australians voted to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into the census and enable the government to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. PUBLIC SPEAKING We held our school Rostrum final last Wednesday morning and were impressed with the high calibre of presentations. It was fantastic to see students from Years 3—6 confidently present their speeches to a nearly whole school audience, with many community members also attending.

Before the meeting, join Club members at 6.00pm for dinner (BYO) at the Vietnam Restaurant, O'Connor (the one on the corner). T shirts and badges carrying the Club's emblem, the corroboree frog, are available for purchase at Club meetings from the Social Secretary. PRESIDENTS PRATRE While not bread and circuses, the last month has been walks and conservation - issues which are the basic sustenance of this Club. Karst and Caves in the Canberra Area - Past and Future Management
KARST AND CAVES IN THE CANBERRA AREA - PAST AND FUTURE MANAGEMENT MARK BUTZ Abstract A number of karst areas and limestone outcrops within a thirty kilometre radius of Canberra City are discussed with an emphasis on those managed by the ACT Parks and Conservation Service of the Department of Territories. The history, conservation status and significance of these areas is reviewed and proposed directions for management are derived from their values, with priority placed on education and scientific enquiry. The need for an organisational approach to karst management is emphasised. Introduction There are numerous limestone lenses amid the Silurian and Devonian formations in the Canberra area, including a number of karsts surrounded by impervious volcanic rocks. Most of the karsts are very small - only a few metres thick and less than a kilometre long - and few contain caves. Where caves are found they are usually small and short, but of reasonable complexity (Nicoll & Brush 1976b). For these reasons, the significance of the karst and caves around Canberra has been long underestimated, but such areas are now receiving higher priority in the resource management programmes of the ACT Parks and Conservation Service, part of the Department of Territories. This Service, established early in 1984, is responsible for management of natural and cultural resources, wildlife and open space recreation throughout the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and the Jervis Bay Territory, and in the Commonwealth Reserve associated with the Googong Reservoir in New South Wales (NSW). Within the areas managed by the Service are found the Paddys River (or Cotter) Caves, the London Bridge and associated caves, and scattered lesser karsts on the plain now occupied by the city area and along the Murrumbidgee and lower Molonglo Rivers.
