Redevelopment Special Event Funding Application FY20/21 Additional Pages CARSON CITY CONSOLIDATED MUNICIPALITY NOTICE OF A MEETING OF THE CULTURAL COMMISSION NOTICE TO PUBLIC: The State of Nevada and Carson City are currently in a declared State of Emergency in response to the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) infectious disease outbreak. In accordance with the Governor’s Declaration of Emergency Directive 006, which has suspend the provisions of NRS 241.020 requiring the designation of a physical location for meetings of public bodies where members of the public are permitted to attend and participate, public meetings of Carson City will NOT have a physical location open to the public until such time this Directive is removed. Members of the public who wish only to view the meeting but do NOT plan to make public comment may watch the livestream of the Carson City Cultural Commission meeting at www.carson.org/granicus and by clicking on “In Progress” next to the meeting date, or by tuning in to cable channel 191. Members of the public who wish to participate during a public meeting may do so by providing public comment during the two designated public comment periods, indicated on the agenda, via videoconference or telephonic appearance. For Possible Action: Discussion and possible action to make recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority regarding applications requesting FY20/21 Redevelopment Arts & Culture Special Event funding. Staff Summary: The Cultural Commission will evaluate, prioritize and make recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority regarding the budgeted expenditure of $25,000 for Arts & Culture Special Event funding from the Redevelopment Revolving Fund for FY20/21. Cultural Commission recommendations will be presented at the Redevelopment Authority June 4 meeting (tentative). (Mark Salinas, [email protected]) 6. For Discussion Only: Presentation and discussion of the Department of Arts + Culture and the Carson City Cultural Commission FY19/20 Annual Report and FY20/21 Work Plan. Staff Summary: As per CCMC 2.41.060, “The commission shall submit an annual report and work-plan to the board of supervisors no later than May 1 of each year.” An abbreviated FY 20/21 Report and Work Plan submitted by the Cultural Commission Chair, Vice Chair, and Department of Arts + Culture was included on the Board of Supervisors Agenda May 7, 2020 as a Consent Agenda Item. For Possible Action: Discussion and possible action regarding the adoption of Department of Arts & Culture’s Project Calendar and Budget for Public Art Programming for FY20/21. Staff Summary: The Cultural Commission will evaluate and prioritize projects presented by the Department of Arts & Culture that are in fulfillment of the Arts & Culture Master Plan. Carson City Public Art Programming for FY 20/21 is funded by the projected $39,828 revenue from the 1% Transient Occupancy Tax. The Commission will allocate these funds, as appropriate, for recommended projects in FY 20/21. 8. For Discussion Only: Department Report. 9. Commissioner Reports and/or Comments. 10. Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) Executive Director Sharon Rosse introduced herself and announced that the exhibit titled Saludos Amigos at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery would be coming down Thursday morning, January 29, 2020. She stated that the exhibit titled Impact by Paula Chung would be the next exhibition at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery and would be opening on February 7, 2020. She mentioned that the reception for th exhibit titled Faces and Places was scheduled for February 28, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and attendees could meet the artists at this time. She also announced that the Carson High School Advanced Photography program student exhibit titled Photo Finished 2020 would be shown at the Community Development Building, the Brick. 3. FOR POSSIBLE ACTION: ADOPTION OF AGENDA AS PRESENTED.     2011 Nevada Gaming Market Summary of Statistics, Broken Down by Reporting Area From Wendover to Primm (and many points in between) the casino gaming landscape of Nevada covers a great deal of territory. Yet the revenues earned from the 344 or so locations scattered across the state are not evenly distributed; the vast majority of casino revenues for the state are generated in Clark County, Nevada, and the majority of them come from the Las Vegas Strip. The top four counties generating revenues were Clark (86.19% of the state total), Washoe (6.97%), Elko (2.49%), and Douglas (1.96%). Within Clark County, the Las Vegas Strip (56.71%), Balance of County (9.61%), Boulder Strip (7.28%), and Downtown Las Vegas (4.64%) were the top revenue earners. Perhaps not surprisingly, the top revenue-earning area out-performed the rest of the state on a per-table and per-device basis. The Las Vegas Strip, for example, has 29.63% of the state’s slot machines, but earned 42.87% of the state’s slot revenue for the year under study. With table games, the Strip had 51.60% of all games, but earned 80.90% of all table game revenue. For the most part, all other locations under-performed, earning less per machine and per table than they should, from a strictly numerical perspective. As a snapshot of where Nevada gaming revenues are generated, this summary is interesting, if only because it gives statistical meaning to the sense that Clark County, and the Las Vegas Strip in particular, are the drivers of Nevada’s gaming revenue.

Results are provided in a current one-month, three month, and twelve month format. Gaming results from restricted licensees are not included in this report. The data provided is subject to change due to late filings of reports, audits, and other adjustments occurring subsequent to the release date of this publication. All locations included in revenue range groups are based on the cumulative gaming win reported in the current twelve months covered by this report. Gaming win for locations that have changed ownership during the current twelve months is combined in order to establish proper placement for such locations in appropriate revenue range groups. Locations newly licensed during the current twelve months are included in revenue range groups based on each location's gaming win, beginning with the month in which gaming operations commenced and based on cumulative totals thereafter. Locations included in revenue range groups in the current periods are also included in the comparative year-ago groups regardless of the revenue produced in the year-ago periods. The minimum number of locations in any revenue range or area group is four. Additionally, if there are fewer than three locations reporting revenue for a specific gaming unit, the information for that gaming unit will be included in the "other" revenue categories. The "Win Percent" for games provides a ratio which has been adjusted for effects of credit play.

    Juan María BRACERAS Born in Rauch, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 23, 1986, he began studying violin in Natal, Brazil, where he grew up, with his mentor Mr. Osvaldo D'Amore and the Suzuki method, at age of 11. He continued his studies with Dr. Rucker Bezerra and Dr. Alexandre Casado from 2002, at the Escola de Música da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte and also at Universidade Federal da Bahia. In 2004, two years before coming to Europe, he was hired as first violin of the Orquestra Sinfônica da Bahia-OSBA, in Salvador. In 2009, he finished his Bachelor in the Haute École de Musique de Genève, where he obtained the diploma with "Distinction" in the class of Margarita Piguet-Karafilova and Gabor Takacs for Chamber Music. In 2014 he received his Master's Degree in Music Performance in the class of Adelina Oprean at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, with minor in Jazz. And in 2017, he obtained finally the Soloist Diploma, in the class of Amandine Beyer and Adelina Oprean, playing for his graduation as soloist, with Sinfonieorchester Basel, Shostakovich Violin Concerto N 1. He has participated in various Music Festival and Master Classes in Brazil, Argentina and all over Europe with great pedagogues of music such as Jean Lenert, Alberto Lysy, Pavel Vernikov, Sidney Hart, Ana Chumachenco, etc. He has played as a soloist in Orchestras in Brazil, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal. And he has been finalist and winner of National Competitions for young musicians such as Concurso Petrobrás Pró-Música, Concurso Paulo Bosísio, Concurso Nacional Jovens Solistas da OSBA, Concurso Nacional Eleazar de Carvalho.
