Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation (OBCDC) #WhatsYourOldBrooklyn, Promotion Campaign

Call for Ambassadors: REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS SUBMIT TO: [email protected] with the subject line: “Ambassador Application”

Project Overview: In 2016 Old Brooklyn CDC will produce a series of programs and events targeting new audiences and promoting the neighborhood to potential residents, business owners and guests. The What’s Your Old Brooklyn campaign (#whatsyouroldbrooklyn) will rely on two major components to promote and share the neighborhood, these events and a concentrated social media campaign. OBCDC is currently accepting applications from residents in Old Brooklyn and throughout Northeast who are interested in joining a team of ambassadors to promote the neighborhood through social media. Ambassadors will attend training sessions on how to use Facebook (pages and events), Twitter, Instagram (technical and artistic) and Snapchat as well as cover the marketing concepts of voice and brand related to the campaign. They will also be expected to attend programs during the year and enter into a contract with minimum quotas for social media “pings”. A stipend will be offered to all Ambassadors who successfully complete the terms of service. Project Goals & Target Audience: The #whatsyouroldbrooklyn campaign is focused around the use of all major social media channels with an added focus on snap chat stories for the community. Training for ambassadors will begin with social media technical and artistic training, as well as communications and marketing work, and will continue with an education on Old Brooklyn and the voice of our community. Ambassadors will be expected to use social media each week to promote events, activities, daily lifestyle moments and more. The Old Brooklyn CDC will put on a series of events throughout 2016. These “test drives” of our neighborhood will require attendance of some ambassadors (a breakdown and calendar will be jointly developed) and social media will be used to promote them before, during and after. Ambassadors will also be expected to develop and/or host additional events locally.
