[Verse 1: Pusha T] This ain't a wave or phase 'cause all that shit fades This lifestyle's forever when you made They tweet about the length I made 'em wait What the f*ck you expect, when a nigga got a cape and he's great? Oven's full of cakes that he bakes, still spreading paste The love just accentuates the hate This is for my body building clients moving weight Just add water, stir it like a shake Play amongst the stars like the roof from a Wraith Get the table next to mine, make the bottle service race. [Chorus: Pusha T] These are the games we play We are the names they say This is the drug money your ex nigga claim he makes. [Verse 2: Pusha T] To all of my young niggas, I am your Ghost and your Wraith This is my Purple Tape, save up for rainy days And baby mama wishes, along with the side bitches They try to coexist, end up wishing you'd die bitches Still on every couch, in the A at the black party No jewelry on, but you richer than everybody You laugh a little louder, the DJ say your name a little prouder And we don't need a globe to show you the world is ours. [Chorus: Pusha T] These are the games we play We are the names they say This is the drug money your ex nigga claim he makes. [Verse 3: Pusha T] Ain't no stoppin' this champagne from poppin' The draws from droppin', the law from watchin' With Ye back choppin' The cars and the women come with options Caviar facials remove the toxins. Back when he was still one-half of Clipse, Pusha T dazzled listeners of the Virginia duo's mixtape series We Got It 4 Cheap by annihilating popular beats of the day. The project's sole criticism was that the production was already so good, it could carry anyone. DAYTONA , copiloted by hip- hop production genius Kanye West, upends that conceit, with contemporary boom-bap built from luscious soul samples that would swallow a lesser MC. With Pusha at the absolute top of his game, DAYTONA is somehow more than the sum of its parts, a fact the rapper acknowledges proudly on “The Games We Play”: “To all of my young n****s/I am your Ghost and your Rae/This is my Purple Tape.”.

In Defense of Rap Music: Not Just Beats, Rhymes, Sex, and Violence THESIS Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Master of Arts Degree in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Crystal Joesell Radford, BA Graduate Program in Education The Ohio State University 2011 Thesis Committee: Professor Beverly Gordon, Advisor Professor Adrienne Dixson Copyrighted by Crystal Joesell Radford 2011 Abstract This study critically analyzes rap through an interdisciplinary framework. The study explains rap‟s socio-cultural history and it examines the multi-generational, classed, racialized, and gendered identities in rap. Rap music grew out of hip-hop culture, which has – in part – earned it a garnering of criticism of being too “violent,” “sexist,” and “noisy.” This criticism became especially pronounced with the emergence of the rap subgenre dubbed “gangsta rap” in the 1990s, which is particularly known for its sexist and violent content. Rap music, which captures the spirit of hip-hop culture, evolved in American inner cities in the early 1970s in the South Bronx at the wake of the Civil Rights, Black Nationalist, and Women‟s Liberation movements during a new technological revolution. During the 1970s and 80s, a series of sociopolitical conscious raps were launched, as young people of color found a cathartic means of expression by which to describe the conditions of the inner-city – a space largely constructed by those in power. Rap thrived under poverty, police repression, social policy, class, and gender relations (Baker, 1993; Boyd, 1997; Keyes, 2000, 2002; Perkins, 1996; Potter, 1995; Rose, 1994, 2008; Watkins, 1998).

ENDER'S GAME by Orson Scott Card Chapter 1 -- Third "I've watched through his eyes, I've listened through his ears, and tell you he's the one. Or at least as close as we're going to get." "That's what you said about the brother." "The brother tested out impossible. For other reasons. Nothing to do with his ability." "Same with the sister. And there are doubts about him. He's too malleable. Too willing to submerge himself in someone else's will." "Not if the other person is his enemy." "So what do we do? Surround him with enemies all the time?" "If we have to." "I thought you said you liked this kid." "If the buggers get him, they'll make me look like his favorite uncle." "All right. We're saving the world, after all. Take him." *** The monitor lady smiled very nicely and tousled his hair and said, "Andrew, I suppose by now you're just absolutely sick of having that horrid monitor. Well, I have good news for you. That monitor is going to come out today. We're going to just take it right out, and it won't hurt a bit." Ender nodded. It was a lie, of course, that it wouldn't hurt a bit. But since adults always said it when it was going to hurt, he could count on that statement as an accurate prediction of the future. Sometimes lies were more dependable than the truth. "So if you'll just come over here, Andrew, just sit right up here on the examining table.

The students discussed the Strategic Planning Activities document which states that the university would put less emphasis on programs that are “esoteric,” such as philoso- phy, literature and fine arts. According to the document, they would instead focus on those that would produce a needed expert labor force in fields like health care, public administration, science, engineering and business. Those in attendance were acting Director of University Planning/Writer of the Strategic Planning Activities, Mi- chael Parker; Vice President of Academic Affairs, Ephraim Smith; Vice President of Student Affairs, Robert Palmer and acting Chief Information Technology Officer, Chris Manriquez. Manganelli Dr. Beth Ann Lauritis Dr. Andrew Hurley ABSTRACT Lack of diversity in video games and the mainstream games industry warrants an inclusive, feminist approach to game design. Producing a feminist video game as a core component of my dissertation will impact rhetorical, literary, game, and feminist studies, emphasizing the benefits of embracing electrate and playful modes of identity formation and pedagogy. ii DEDICATION To women of every gender playing and designing games, especially those facing discrimination in game spaces and gaming communities, I dedicate this work in hopes that our situation may see improvement every day. Filmed as received. University Microfilms, A Xerox Education Company PREFACE Play Is an elusive term, rich in meaning and implication and varied in usage. We speak of the erotic love play or foreplay of lovers and of the holy play of the gods. We play games, musical instruments, and roles; we play with ideas, with toys, and with playmates; in various senses we play up, play down, play out, play into, play on, play off, and play back. Movies play at theatres, sunlight plays on waves, otters play on mudslides, lovers play the field, and gamblers play the horses. Almost any activity, any creation, and any person can be described as playful. Such linguistic fluidity makes it extremely difficult to define play from any single perspective. Considering the richness and elusiveness of the concept, it seems more appropriate to examine play from several related or over lapping points of view.
