Seal No: 04428956 at 14:14 hours was received by me from I certify that the sample was analysed by me, or under my direction, and the results are as follows: Methanol 47 mg/litre Alcohol by Volume 11.60 % VOL Sulphur dioxide 140 mg/L My opinions and observations From a consideration of the above results of analysis I am of the opinion that the sample consisted of genuine Wine and there was no evidence of any excessive contamination. EU legislation allows red wine to contain 160-210 milligrams of total sulphur dioxide per kilogram of wine, however most wine will have to declare the its presence under the allergen requirements of The Food Labelling Regulations 1996. The amount present complied with the requirements of the legislation and the presence of "Sulphite" was declared. The methanol content was within the typical range for this type of product. This sample was satisfactory as far as can be ascertained from the results of the above tests. Certified by me this 28th day of March 2014 at Stafford, Staffordshire. The sample did not comply with the requirements of The Food Labelling Regulations 1996 in the following respects: The presence of irradiated components must be indicated in the name of the food and must be accompanied by the word "irradiated" or the words "treated with ionising radiation". The sample therefore did not comply with the aforementioned legislation. Certified by me this 11th day of April 2014 at Stafford, Staffordshire.
