DFSU - ITA In July 2018 the Doping Free Sport Unit (DFSU), which was established as part of GAISF and whose expert professional services have helped many members to establish and implement effective anti-doping programmes, became the core of the new International Testing Agency (ITA) which will play a central role in the continuing fight against doping and protect the interests of clean athletes. The ITA will continue to provide the assistance members need in this critical area. They have GAISF’s full support and it is hoped that members will take the opportunity to draw on their expertise and the services provided. Mme Valérie Fourneyron, Chair of IT, will provide an update to all our Members during the General Assembly 2019

SUSTAINABILITY The Council has approved the human resources required for GAISF to join forces with the IOC Sustainability Team to extend the services to all our Members. As the launch session at the IF Forum demonstrated we all have an important role to play in promoting sustainability and adopting sustainable processes throughout our organisations.

LEADERSHIP The year since our last General Assembly, held during SportAccord in Bangkok, was marred by the tragic and sudden death of our President Patrick Baumann. Nevertheless, the administration continued to carry out the day to day operations of GAISF, as directed by the Council and following the path begun by Patrick Baumann. The Council confirmed Dr Raffaele Chiulli to lead GAISF and appointed Philippe Gueisbuhler as Director.
