[email protected] Résumé : Le Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) s’est constitué en tant que sport de combat de synthèse à partir d’un projet originel de confrontation des différents styles martiaux. Nous examinons l’autonomisation de cette discipline à partir d’un processus, non prémédité, d’hybridation et discutons l’idée suivant laquelle l’intégration de différentes spécialités de combat produirait nécessairement un enrichissement gestuel. Inversement, le MMA professionnel est marqué par un double mouvement paradoxal de rétrécissement et d’uniformisation techniques, dominé par les frappes de poings et qui résulterait de la conjonction de facteurs économiques, médiatiques et réglementaires. Abstract: The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) was established as a synthetic combat sport from an original project whose aim was to confront distinct martial styles. We underline the hybridization process - not planed – which has generated the emergence of a discipline sui generis and discuss the idea that the integration of various specialities produces inevitably a technical improvement. On the contrary, the professional version of MMA is characterized by a double and paradoxical dynamics of narrowing and standardization, dominated by the striking (especially with the fists), which would result from the convergence of economic, media and regulatory factors.

    ONE GRAPPLING CHALLENGE MACAO SET FOR 13 AUGUST AT THE VENETIAN MACAO 05 August 2016 – Macao, China: The largest sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), will be conducting a grappling tournament on Saturday, 13 August in Macao, China.     2014 was a unique year for pro-wrestling, one that will undoubtedly be viewed as historically significant in years to follow. Whether it is to be reflected upon positively or negatively is not only highly subjective, but also context-specific with major occurrences transpiring across the pro-wrestling world over the last 12 months, each with its own strong, and at times far reaching, consequences. The WWE launched its much awaited Network, New Japan continued to expand, CMLL booked lucha's biggest match in well over a decade, culminating in the country's first million dollar gate, TNA teetered more precariously on the brink of death than perhaps ever before, Daniel Bryan won the WWE's top prize, Dragon Gate and DDT saw continued success before their loyal niche audiences, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk departed the WWE with one ending up in the most unexpected of places, a developing and divergent style produced some of the best indie matches of the year, the European scene flourished, the Shield disbanded, Batista returned, Daniel Bryan relinquished his championship, and the Undertaker's streak came to an unexpected and dramatic end. These are but some of the happenings, which made 2014 the year that it was, and it is in this year-book that we look to not only recap all of these events and more, but also contemplate their relevance to the greater pro-wrestling landscape, both for 2015 and beyond. It should be stated that this year-book was inspired by the DKP Annuals that were released in 2011 and 2012, in fact, it was the absence of a 2013 annual that inspired us to produce a year-book for 2014.

Ticket holders for the MSG show were sent a letter with a statement citing a, “scheduling conflict” and were informed that Bryan's Appreciation Night had been postponed. Bryan is also out of WrestleMania weekend, where he was scheduled to appear at Axxess, however now Shawn Michaels will now be replacing him, and he is off the upcoming European tour in April too. The latest on the situation is that WWE officials noted that Bryan had requested time off, which he was granted, however Brie Bella was not at TV this week either and the speculation and gossip mongers went into overdrive with wacky theories about what the real story is. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported on 25/3 that Brie Bella would be retiring “following the RAW after WrestleMania” and noted that Bryan had been pulled from his appearances to do a “health issue.” Satin's report claimed that it is unclear what the issue with Bryan is, but according to his “sources” the “health issue” is the reason why Brie was not at TV this week and a major reason why she is moving her retirement up from the summer to after Mania.
